Me too. Still, Crispin Glover was born to play Willard, LOL! but I haven't seen that 2002 Willard. I'm sure he did a fantastic job. He's an underrated actor, and a bit type cast due to the quirky characters he plays so well.

Both Willard movies are good, but neither of them approaches the literary source, originally titled "Ratman's Notebooks."

No, Ben is a completely original story that takes place after the events in Willard/Ratman's Notebooks.

The original book had a satirical component that both movies ignore. Willard discovers a large rat mask in the attic and starts making raids wearing it accompanied by his army of rats. The city is in terror of "Ratman." They even start selling Ratman insurance.
