I am using Nero 7.2 Pro. If you are looking for a free one, I d suggest BurnOn. Its fast, hassle-free and supports all formats.

If you are looking for conversions before burning your shit, then ConvertXtoDVD.

Thanks, I got it...
I'm having a bit of trouble though, in terms of how to use it for what I'm after.
Do you know what steps to use, to put .avi or other divx related files onto a playable DVD, eg, not a data one?
Thanks.

It should have a PDF file explaining how to do it.

Try downloading from here, Cheebs :-

http://www.burnworld.com/burnoncddvd/

It basically converts all recognisable formats into 1:1 mode.

Help to fix this SHIT...

More pc issues...well, had this for a while, but thought I'd give it a go to fix.
WMP has stopped playing all kinds of video files, and I don't know why.
Music is fine, just not video.

To start, I have downloaded the latest version of wmp, and same deal.

A window comes up when I try to play a (.avi usually) file, that says
"wmp encountered a problem while trying to play the file, please click web help for assistance"
Then I get this page when I click it,
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/win...nalid=80040241
I've followed all the instructions there, and my "sound device" is working fine, fully updated.
The files arent corrupt as I've burned them off before and managed to play them from dvd players fine, also nero (when I had it) played them.

So, any fixes aside from a complete reformat here?

Try downloading a codec pack, that could clear it all up, or you could just get Divx, Bsplayer, or Media Player Classic, because WMP just isn't that good, Or winamp, if your going for the features you get from WMP

I am guessing the compatible video plug-in for WMP is either corrupted or gone.

Sometimes WMP tries to access other video plug-ins to play a video, like for example, Nero's Showtime plug-in. Either way, I think you need a plug-in/codec pack for WMP, or a re-install of the WMP shit.

I totally agree :D

I have no idea what that means...
Still can't figure out how to just put avi's on a playable dvd, it's not the most user-friendly application I've seen.
Thanks anyways...but unless I can sort this, it'll be yet again, a matter or downloading the assfucked nero until it stops letting me use it...

Sooo....I tried winamp.
Music works fine.
BUT
When I try to play a video, it SAYS it's playing it, but all I get is the winamp thing, and a little black box with no video on the screen, no sound, nothing but the name of the file in the top of it.

Is it just me, or is that fucked?

Guys?

...not having fun here.

Psycom5k 01-23-2008 06:57 AM

hmmmm.... I would download and install a codec pack, that should clear everything up, if not, then its time for the old reformat.
