i know times have changed and i'm not strict by any means but i see her parents letting this behaviour continue and she's spiraling and it's hard to watch. now she's trying drugs and smoking and i think she's having sex or close to it and it's gotten to a point where i can't talk to my sister about it because they "don't want to treat her like a prisoner". but you know what? like i said i'm not strict but as a parent sometimes you can't be the friend and you have to be the parent. your number one job is to do everything in your power to keep them safe and give them the morals to do what's right when they are alone. maybe they won't follow them and maybe they'll screw up but at least you did everthing you could. it;s all very sad when parents are scared to be parents like my sister. there's somewhere between too strict and too loose .... somewhere in the middle where kids can be safe and still like you. sorry to go on, this topic is just really a part of my life right now.

I feel like this is a total bullshit speech, my parents were always my friend, they wasn't strict on me they believed in me, that I would make the right choices. Havin that freedom to learn from your own mistakes does infact make you have good morals. I have never gotten in trouble by the government or anything. I made my own choices they let it happen and I am a great guy, with great morals, you have to have trust in a child to raise them right.

For once, I'm inclined to throw in with the person who thinks you ought to be banned...why? I can't say I'm in the place to say it's all wrong, wrong, wrong, but I sure as hell won't call it right. Now, she seems like a nice kinda girl, but I think maybe she's a tad mislead, I think urg said it right 'her mother isn't doing her any favours'...In lots of cases I've seen personally, you dress a certain way, you get treated as such. No offence to the girl in question, but when I see a girl that age wearing less than some of the hookers I've seen in my day, I think that maybe some more emphasis on appropriate dress as per her age ought to have been passed on.
I'm dissapointed that certain members have taken the more irresponsible path with their direct, and indirect "everybody has a right to post any damn thing they want" endorsement of this kinda thing...it's just fucked up. The person is in a situation where maybe there's a lack of something that we're in a position to provide, and y'all just take her further down the garden path.
I don't think the poster in question knows or perceives this whole thing as a problem, maybe they're not old enough to understand, whatever...I wouldn't dream of placing any personal blame, calling her names or anything, but I think maybe some of us here oughta act a little more responsibly with our input.

Well I guess it was because i'm a guy, now that I look at it and stop to think about it my parents were really strict on my sister, also if I had a daughter I would be worryin about her all the time also. So to Ginger I am sorry for snapping I didn't think first.

The only problem I had was that BD wanted to be in the 'glamour' industry, fine upto her when she is an adult, not a 14 year old. I'm sure lot of girls want to do that as well and end up on the streets, full of crack, homeless or worse making the front cover of some seedy magazine; hopefully her parents will point her in the right direction, and not to some back street photo-studio.

My parents aren't strict and they arent easy. I love hem like all children. I'm not allowed to swear, have drugs or go out without telling them all the info and being back by nine o'clock. I like it that way because it means i know they care. Some peoples parent are all about "it's your life" but to me, if my parents just stood by and let me swear, shout, go out, have sex and steal, i would know i'm ending up bad and want them to help.

There's a girl in my class who smoked. Her mum found out and was upset. Why? not because she smoked, but because she smoked behind her mums back! Now she's allowed to smoke in he house becase her mum would rather her do it infront of her than behind her back!


No, i do not agree with cyber sex, children looking at pornograph, underage sex, drinking or smoking or taking drugs. But like was stated, it is the people around you that make you what you are. If your parents let you run wild then you will be an out of control, irresponsible, carefree person. Some people don;'t when put in that situation but %75 percent of people in prison is because their parents weren't firm enough on them as children.
