Secondly, I'm happy with my intelligence. I don't see how you could think that anybody who would want to look better is shallow... maybe your definition of shallow needs rethinking...

The most intelligent person I know is extremely Nihilistic and depressed/depressing. I'm glad I'm not like that. Great intelligence can often lead to self destruction you don't have to look far to find good examples. Many great thinkers eventually drive themselves insane...

That's why it's a good question. both have their benefits and downfalls, the question isn't "are you shallow or not?" for a reason...

Being unhappy with the way you look and wanting to look better doesn't mean you're a horrible person.

Everyone wants to look good.......for their own self esteem...........what you were saying was different. You were choosing to be better than you are, instead of something of more value. What is wrong with what you are? That is all I mean :)
