i love that movie too .. i just bought it last week ... wanted it on DVD for ages.

I met Tom Savini at a Fango convention just after it came out .. I bought a press kit and he signed it for me ..
He also said he wasn't happy with it ... that the Barbra character was too strong (like a sigourney weaver character)
Most people disagree ... the movie is great..

Ive always thought her character was a strong point of the film, there's a nice evolution from hysterical screamer to tough cookie esp. at the end of the film. Mr. Savini is probably his own worse critic.

and .. i think at that stage of being a director .. he probably didnt have a lot of creative control ... only the huge established money making directors do. Si i bet for the most part he was pretty much doing what he was told to do by the producers ..

I liked her character too ... Patricia Tallman .. or something like that ..

she was also in Knight Riders .. another Romero/Savini collaberation ..

That seems strange to me that someone with the creativity that Tom Savini has, wouldn't have creative control of a film. Ours is not to reason why I suppose.
I know Patricia Tallman mainly for being in Babylon 5 ,similarly she learns to be a hard ass as the program progresses.

i didnt mind the 1st one ... I would have preferred it were more adult oriented (bloodier) but it had some good moments .. and captured the feel of a game ..

Transporter 2

...Just one of those sequels that doesn't make any sense. Like The Whole Ten Yards, you just sit there like, "But... but nobody even liked the first one."

Poor Jason Statham, just keeps taking shit roles.

I didn't think it was so bad for what it was....mindless action fun.. Plus....i liked the first one.

National Lampoons: Dorm Daze
Much funnier than I expected...not a GREAT movie, but a laugh...it was like watching a MAD magazine.

The corkscrew car flip that removed the bomb on the bottom was too much for me to take.

Plus there weren't as many fight scenes as the first one. The greased up bike pedal fight in the first was badass.

Ok....i'll agree with you on the car flip....a bit too much maybe...but thats what you go into these movies expecting. Kinda like a James Bond feel.

urgeok 01-13-2006 07:54 PM

i have to admit - both of them lest me kind of cold ...

some action movie fight scenes leave you feeling that the physicality only exists in the editing room .. thats the way i feel about Statham in both films ...

VS Jet Lee in Unleashed ...

same producer i believe ? (Besson) but far more believable and with a lot more content ..

Transporter 2 was better than 1 but I cant remember a damn thing that happened in eather one after i saw them ..

newb 01-13-2006 08:03 PM

I did like Unleashed much better than the Transporter movies......but i felt they were on a different level.
Transporter catering more to the action/anything goes crowd and Unleashed more to the thinking mans crowd.....as it were.

urgeok 01-13-2006 08:15 PM

it was more gritty ...

even kiss of the dragon had too much flash and quick edits ..

i like action but i really like fights that look like the actual guys are fighting ..

(Grosse Point Blank, They Live) fights like that ...

OldBoy....say no more.

Actually "They Live" had one of the best extended fight scenes yet.

But so does any saturday afternoon WWF match.:D

Jason Goes To Hell: The Final Friday

Well the story pretty much sucks and Jason never actually goes to hell, but if you can overlook those two things, this movie's alright. There's some pretty cool gore and the acting is average. All in all, it's not the worst in the franchise, but it's not anywhere near the best either.

C

Deuce Bigelow: European Gigolo

A pretty ho-hum sequel to a movie that was only slightly above average to begin with. I thought most of the stuff with Eddie Griffin was pretty funny and the Norm McDonald and Adam Sandler cameos are always a plu, but this script was lacking any type of quality story.

just watched Hustle adn Flow - which was a decent movie with AMAZING performances - I think Terrence Howard might slip in and win the Academy Award.

Watched most of Sin City last night...heh, my friends wanted to turn it off after the Dwight story...oh well, their loss. I was the only one enjoying it anyway;).

After that we popped in SNL: Best of Adam Sandler. Im not a big fan of most of his movies [Although he does have some gems], but this man was HILARIOUS on SNL. Ive watched this collection at least 10 times, and it keeps getting funnier. Cajun Man and the Herlihy Boy are by far the highlights:D

zomb5150 01-14-2006 08:56 AM

I just watched "Four Brothers" and "Red Eye" both were good.:)
