I was guessing he meant this one: http://hmv.com/hmvweb/displayProduct...2699b6ca23b49b

The New Barbarians being part of the Bronx Warriors series is news to me. Same director of course (Enzo G. Castellari). It looks like a cool set once its opened up especially how they've taken the time to do some new traditional styled artwork. I'd personally go with the Shriek show set and pick up a local release of Escape From The Bronx because their stuff has better transfers and their triple packs are dirt cheap... and a tin case vs. a solid version of 2019: After The Fall Of New York is no contest.

Don't really trust anything like this that's R2 because uncut usually means cut with a couple of seedy frames edited in.

escape from the bronx is a new remastering, supposedly the first anamorphic copy.

shamless have done very well with their releases so far, who'd have thought we'd get an uncut release of night train murders, a complete rebuild of baba yaga, a correctly edited version of my dear killer.

sounds like you got burned a few times with the vipco releases, they were famous for their "uncut" releases.

Yeh I did that's why I steered clear of their stuff. I should've done my research :)

I might just give that set a day in court. This is the I've had my eye on over here:

I've been trying to find the specs for the R4 Escape From The Bronx disc not sure if its anamorphic or not.

Very excited about this one. Mondo Vision is apparently an up-and-coming Canadian Criterion; even though currently they're only putting out the work of Andrzej Zulawski (which is totally fine). The package is incredible and the film looks and sounds magnificent. Can't wait to see them do Possession and Diabel.

Where's Murderdoll, anyway?

Great gets. I really dig Altered States. I wish they'd put more of Ken Russell's work out on DVD.

Also...

Dario Argento - An Eye For Horror

http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...500_AA240_.jpg

A made-for-TV doc on the great man.

"Brilliantly mixing gore, vivid colors, and twisting stories filled with black-gloved murderers and dashes of the supernatural, Dario Argento's films have combined the best of horror and art house cinema. For over thirty years Argento has produced one classic shocker after another, such as Deep Red, Suspiria, Tenebre, and Opera. Now go behind the scenes and learn the dark secrets behind Argento's movie alchemy, including his striking rock-influenced music, groundbreaking special effects, dizzying camera work, and haunting imagery, from his early mystery masterpieces to his latest thriller, Sleepless. Features interviews with John Carpenter, Alice Cooper, Keith Emerson, and actresses Jessica Harper and Piper Laurie."
