I'll usually only give the first episode a shot...then if it gets my interest I'll collect all of season 1, and if/when season 2 starts airing OR a proper, not-cut-short ending happens to season 1, I will start watching again. Been marathoning "Once Upon a Time" season 2. I still quite like this show, some interesting additional elements bought into it this season. Not sure where it's headed as I'm only about halfway through the season, but yeah, watchable. ...and Regina is hot as all fuck... |
Going through Eureka right now. I'm about to end season 3 and I have to say I hope it gets a lot better.
|
That's one I gave up on mid season 1.
It was promising, a fairly likable cast, but yeah to me it just went noplace, seemed like another mystery of the week kind've show. |
My wife is watching The Vanilla Ice Project on HGTV as I type. Dude does have skills when it comes to home renovations, but obviously, Ice works on the extremely high end mansions that average folks like myself could never afford. Oh well!

SHARKNADO
I usually hate this kind of thing, but there was a lot of hype about this SYFY original, so I checked it out. I thought it was quite amusing and actually laughed several times. Don't get me wrong- it's terrible, particularly the dialogue... but it transcends everything and comes out funny. |
I thought that was a movie?
I have continues my marathon in the second series of Once Upon a Time. I also watched the first season of the last/current run of the US Masterchef, only really because I wanted to see if Ramsay would go off in that kind of production...I think it's funny that every contestant has to have a drama of their own, their very own slow-piano story of triumph or whatever ha...it's like, just cook motherfuckers. Today I'll be watching the latest Wilfred (STILL not loving this season), ep 3 of "under the dome". Probaby some more OUAT. |
It's a TV movie.

Watched some more "Once Upon a Time".
I may have mentioned I've been going through season 2 which we collected and held off on 'til it had finished airing. I find myself really rooting for Rumplestiltskin to...I don't know, turn out "ok"? I find his character has the richest history/backstories and he's probably endured more of an ongoing tragedy than most. Not to mention Carlyle is just so excellent in the role. I'd say this season is a step up from the first. It still kind've makes me roll my eyes on occasion with the sickly sweetness of parts of it, but it's a good twist to the things I knew and most of what's new to me turns out to be very well concieved. Much more rounded characters given than I'd expect. Thus far, they've broadened the idea of the show significantly...Latest episode I watched was the one you where you found out the guy that crashed his car (played by Ethan Embry who by GOD has aged like a motherfucker) actually has a history in Storybrooke too. Good series. Some cool additions to the cast. Been checking out the Masterchef show with Ramsay in it a bit more too. Run of the mill. Some nice food and interesting ideas here and there, but REALLY a lot of wanky people. Save the drama, get to the cooking. |

Under The Dome
Got to watch the first 3 episodes last night. I've haven't read the book so I don't know anything about it. |
Under the Dome -
I didn't think this would be a horror show. But the first episode is horror. At least some of the things that happen. This show is like a TV version of The Mist without the monsters. At least so far. I've been hooked and caught up over the last week. I thought the thing with the pretty blonde girl was far fetched. The guy goes from having a hot girl to going complete insane in literally seconds. Having Britt Robertson all to yourself is ideal but this guy goes to a crazy level I can't believe. Thankfully it seems to be resolved in a so so way even though it went on for probably too long. The rest of the town happenings are really good. Just like The Mist, it's about the characters. And that should make for a good TV show. Especially since I've never read the book and it's all new to me. 666 Park Avenue - I caught up on this after noticing it was on. It's still a pretty good show. The only problem is, like many shows that get cancelled, the writers have to do stuff that they didn't plan. So they either don't come up with good ideas or they don't care. Thus you get what I call the "quickly resolved situations." Characters and events that happen far too easily and don't make any sense if the characters are remotely competent. Only, one more episode to go. I'm not expecting much now. Zero Hour - They put this back on without notice. They didn't even leave it on Comcast or Online so I missed the episodes. So I guess whoever is in charge really hates this show. Falling Skies - Still an awesome show. I can't wait for the last few episode surprises. The last episode was really good and I will be shocked if they follow through on what they did. |
Not sure if this goes here or in the Last Seen Movie thread. This morning I watched an HBO documentary called "The Cheshire Murders". It's about a case in Connecticut that involves two individuals who raped and murdered a mother and her two daughters. They also beat the shit out of the father and set the house on fire.
I was working in Connecticut when the trials (they were tried separately) were going on. I remember thinking to myself "I hope they get the death penalty". One of them raped an 11 year old girl. The mother was also raped AFTER she was strangled to death. The documentary makes some interesting accusations toward the Cheshire Police, saying they were OUTSIDE THE HOUSE while all this was taking place. One of the individuals had taken the mother to the bank to withdraw money and she had slipped a note to the teller saying her family was being held captive at the house, who gave it to the bank manager, who called the police. Not once did the police knock on the door or try to call the house phone. They said they were following protocol and setting up a perimeter. Please, someone explain this to me. If they had knocked on the door, these senseless deaths (and rapes) could have been avoided. The cops were outside the house for a HALF HOUR! |
Am a big fan of the following horror/thriller shows on TV, in order (most on hiatus, some cancelled)
1) Hannibal (on hiatus) 2) The Walking Dead (in production S4) 3) True Blood 4) Dexter 5) Bates Motel (on hiatus) 6) American Horror Story (in production S3) 7) Under The Dome 8) The Following (way to many commercials though, but renewed for S2) 9) X-Files (cancelled) 10) Fringe (cancelled) |
Burn Notice

Cult -
This is another cancelled show that they finally put back on. It's still not the best show but the pieces are coming together far better than in 666 Park Avenue. The show really does seem to be about Cult themes now and how far their leader will go. The guy who plays the leader of the Cult or secret organization is a great bad guy too. Hopefully he'll get more opportunities as a bad guy after this. I'm curious how it will end after the reveal on the second to last episode. |

Really hoping this season gets better. I'm not liking the short storylines this season and the last are employing. I prefer the old season length storylines they used before |

Cancelled TV Show Finales. Maybe SPOILERS. When TV shows get cancelled early maybe it's a good thing. Perhaps audiences get that the shows are bad or going no where. Maybe executives can tell the stories are crap. But surely they should have recognized that before giving shows the green light based on plot summaries. These two shows are perfect examples of shows that probably should not have made it to TV. Or the writers needed a far better handle on what was going on both with the characters and behind the scenes. Cult - I don't know how they could end this show on a bad cliffhanger with another secretive cult. It seems like they tried to tie some things up and go the predictable route with many things. But also for some crazy reason left other things open. Why? I don't know. I think they were still filming some episodes when the cancellation came in. If not they had to have a feeling things weren't going right when the show was moved to another time slot. Things didn't have to go this way with the plot. But they did. So we are left with a surprise character working with a new secret cult, the open fate of another character, the guy who is pulling the strings is still unseen, and a stupid ending using a phrase that hasn't been mentioned since the early episodes. Pretty pointless. I hope Jessica Lucas picks better projects next time because she was the best thing about this show. 666 Park Avenue - I liked this show in the beginning. However, just like I mentioned about the 2nd to last episode, things are happening just to tie things up. One character makes a flip so crazy in this finale it doesn't make sense at all. Especially considering the huge reveal, everything that's happened before, and how all the pieces to the puzzle now fit. It makes no sense if you've watched the show from the beginning. In fact it's stupid. It's like the show went from a something that was a bit spooky to something similar to that Devil's Advocate movie. And even then we still don't know for sure if that's who we are dealing with. |
