Africa Screams

Mom loves Abbot and Costello, so we watched it on a bus trip one time, but she fell asleep and we never finished it. Completely forgot about it until I put the VHS in and we started watching it. Glad I got to finish it I guess! ::big grin::

They are just a joy to watch... the simpatico and yin-yang of the duo feels like family. I've seen a few of their films, but really I only remember the classic "Who's On First" routine. I know Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein is considered some fine cinema, and I'm pretty sure I watched it with my mom, but I really don't remember anything from it. I feel like the whole movie would be one of the monsters would be behind Abbott, and then Costello would be doing is conflagration breakdown trying to tell him. ::big grin::

Hey Roiff? Where does your avatar 'werewolf' pic come from?

http://horror.com/forum/customavatar...ar89697_23.gif

When I saw it, it eerily reminded me of this album cover:

https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikiped..._of_Nature.jpg

That's Kansas' "Freaks of Nature". It's a picture of Adrian Jeftichew -- he (and his father) suffered from a condition called hypertrichosis. Adrian worked the circus sideshow circuit in Russia, until he was purchased by PT Barnum and brought to the US. They gave him the stage name "Jo-Jo the Dog-Faced Boy". Barum came up with the performance story that a hunter tracked Adrian and his father down to their cave and captured them, that they were savage, and stressing he looked like a dog, obliged that Adrian growl and bark.

Pretty good album. Here's the title track:

From WolfCop's Facebook page of course. ::big grin::

Not bad, I like some Kansas songs. 8)

Dang I haven't looked up hypertrichosis in ages. It always made me sad the way the people with it were treated. Isn't much different today from what I've seen, there are still 'dog faced boys' in freak shows. At least they're not made to growl and bark.

It IS fine cinema! If you haven't watched it yet then do yourself a favor and fix that ASAP! ::wink::

Seriously, I know how much that would mean to you! When you first joined here, I remember asking you about your user name and long story short, I ended up watching the film. That's the best, kiddo....and Happy Birthday.

If Hammer doesn't wanna get dirty she's got back up. ::devil::

Seriously though, don't knock the superstitions! I hit my first deer with my jeep on a Friday the 13th. The only thing this day is good for is boarding yourself up in the safety of your own home, eating pumpkin spice ice-cream and watching a Jason marathon.

She hit her 33rd deer on Christmas Day that same year, and people began to think something was wrong...

Damn! Can't do shit around here! ::big grin::

I like that idea about boardin' yourself up at home Roiff...I got some pallets stockpiled to nail up over those first floor windows when the ZA starts.

This week is going great so far and I finally got some decent sleep last night thankfully. Tonight I plan on playing some video games with my boyfriend once he gets home from work. =) And hopefully I won't get any migraines today, lol.

Very nice, NOTLD! A full and good night's sleep is good indeed!

So what video games do you play with your BF? I love playing team games with my friends. Haven't been able to do that in a long time.

On October 4th I saw what can only be described as a peculiar half submerged antique musical instrument in a local lake. It seemed to sprout limbs and scamper away when I came within a certain distance. It wasn't made of organic material.

This here's an excerpt from a book I'm readin'.....

"What I fear is personal to me. It makes no sense in a larger context. The signs of my dread, the images my brain uses, if you like, to illustrate my fear, those signs are mild stuff by comparison with the real horror that's at the root of my personality."

Intriguing. "the real horror that's at the root of my personality"... what do you think that means?

Our first emotion on coming into the world was fear?

Could be how his childhood shaped his personality. Horrific abuse, having a loved one murdered etc. Could be he is just pure evil.

Dead Bad Things 10-21-2017 06:07 AM

Stone cold huh?
It means...Look I'm one scary mofo dig?

It's outta Clive Barker's Books of Blood....The story is called Dread.

Been some time since I last went but..... Mrs. DBT and I have been kickin' round the idea of goin' to Day of the Dead this year....

This last summer when I was at rainbow, there was a spirit house. If y'all ain't never seen some of the infrastructure that gets built at a raibow gatherin' let me tell ya, this thing was powerful an shit.

S'all kinda built into this giant tree...enclosed with tapestries, all private an all. with memorials for folks who've past on to the other side....things hangin' from the ceiling an shit...
