"The Enforcer", groovy 3rd Dirty Harry film with lots of enjoyable Eastwood/Harrty moments. God bless the 70's.

"A Nightmare On Elm Street"

Just caught a bit of the lame "Red Heat" on TV...VERY strange to hear the music John Woo used for many of the action scene in his classic "The Killer". This is their origin, but they seem far more at home in "The Killer" than here.

Maybe it would have been better in the theatre. Just really wasn't impressed.........but I didn't mind it. Julianne Moore is one of my favorite actresses.

Amalthea 01-23-2005 02:11 AM

I´m looking forward to The Forgotten, but they are showing it so late in the cinemas, so i wait for the DVD.

actually it was the first movie i had seen (after a bunch of abysmal stinkers) that i thought was ok ... like you said an extended x-files episode with a couple of effective jumps...

it was weak around the edges but it kept me amused .. something the village, house of the dead, and RE2 failed to do.

I dont get out to see a movie as much as i'd like .. mostly kids shows these days..

urgeok 01-23-2005 06:03 AM

oh speaking of which - last seen movie :

Space Jam with my little guy who has been watching it over and over for some weird reason.

I cant stand it .. as likeable as Jordon is ..

urgeok 01-23-2005 06:45 AM

when i first joined Horror - here ..

i had a Tall Man avatar from Phantasm .. then i thought screw it - i like non movie funny ones better than movie ones :)

Totoro is an exception cause he looks so goofy :)

Amalthea 01-23-2005 07:41 AM

Goodbye Lenin! (Germany 2003):Nominated for best foreign language movie last year.
A mother watches her son under a demostration in Berlin october 1989, and she collapses.
While the mother is in coma, are her kids trying to hide the new Berlin for her.
It´s been 5 years since I was in Berlin, and in june is it 15 years ago that the frontiers in Berlin got removed.

For me it jsut usually depends on what the avatar is if it's non Horror.

slasherman 01-23-2005 09:20 AM

watched some "bad" ninja films lately :D

The_Return 01-23-2005 09:21 AM

I just watched Spawn again. I cant see why everybody hates that movie so much. It has great special effects [With 2 obvious exceptions], a nice dark, story line....and an evil perverted clown! What more can you ask for?

Angra 01-23-2005 09:56 AM

I´ve just seen Weird Al Yankovic´s "UHF" for about the 10th time i guess. It has som seriously hilarious scenes, like the Indiana Jones intro. :)

That is one heck of a funny movie. My favorite parts were without a doubt when he was interviewing the shop teacher, and Juan's Wild Kingdom:p

The shop teacher scene was actually pretty gross, i thought.

"Can you believe this? Would you look at that? Just call me 'Mr. Butterfingers.'...I think it's on the floor somewhere. Boy, is my face red..."

I also find the commercials and the Rambo imitation hysterical.
:D

"His Conan the librarian!", "Ghandi 2"..etc.

blind guy doing the rubiks cube: "is this it?"
bum: "nope"
blind guy : "Is this it?"
bum: "nope"
etc.

"i care about this town as much as a driveling pile of dog snot. if you combine this towns iq, you might have enough intelligence to tie your shoe. but its always nice to know ive got them exactly where i want them."

:D :D :D

How about a coherent plot, capable acting and a rewrite on the God awful script?

"Damned in Venice"

urgeok 01-24-2005 06:44 AM

Last night I watched The Private Life of Sherlock Holmes (Billy Wilder)

I was a bit disappointed because i found it very stagey (esp. the performance by the guy who played Watson) but that is typical of Billy Wilder.

Some scenes ran on too long for certain 'jokes' that did not pay off..It could have been much tighter.

But - I like pretty much anything to do with Sherlock Holmes so I still enjoyed it somewhat
