Hey vamp you should watch this..

I'll see about picking it up next time I'm at Blockbuster.

Fangoria: Blood Drive II

I'll go ahead and say, this was an improvement over the first one. Not much, but a few of the films had a lot better camera work and acting.

8/10

Its not that great, IMO

I watched the first half-hour or so of it at a friend's house awhile back...beautiful animation, but I couldnt understand a damn thing that was going on.

Yeah, I read a review on it and it said that if you never played FFVII to just forget the story....Sadly, I never played the game. lol

The Last King of Scotland (2006)

Wow! What a spectacular film! Forest Whitaker damn well better get the Best Actor Academy Award. (And, chances are, he will.)

The Departed

Great acting here all around (How could it not be with this all-star cast?), good direction & script, lots of action, but it was a bit long. While this is probably one of the better crime films to come out in recent years, I don't neccesarily think it's Scorsese's best work. (I'd actually rank quite a few of his films ahead of it.... Taxi Driver, Raging Bull, Goodfellas, Casino and maybe even The Color of Money.) Any soundtrack with Dropkick Murphys featured so prominently is a good soundtrack in my book!

All in all, I really enjoyed this film, however I think I had built up my expectations a bit too high because I thought it was somewhere in between good & great, but not the spectacular crowning achievement in Scorsese's career that I've been led to believe it was gonna be.

B+

A really good movie, but I think it's been a little bit over-hyped.

The Exorcist 10/10

Pulp Fiction again.

Dawn Of The Dead (1978)

Alright, I finally got around to seeing this. I must say, the people here and everywhere else over-hyped this a little. It was a great movie, yes, but it was nothing compared to Night Of The Living Dead in my opinion.

10/10

Yes, I'm giving this a 10 out of 10, but it still wasn't better than several other movies I've seen.

Saturday Night Fever.

I love this movie, it's a classic as far as I'm concerned. I really enjoy watching movies that catch the time they're filmed in. The disco rage is fascinating to me....the clothes and the dancing and the general attitude. It's strange to think my kids will look at a movie like that the same way I look at old Fred Astaire movies.

That might be a bit of a rough watch then. If nothing else, I still suggest watching it for the animation, because it's some of the most gorgeous graphics I've ever seen. As far as not having played FFVII, yeah, a good stand alone movie it is not. I think that's the majority of the magic of it is seeing the characters you grew to love out of a groundbreaking game again in a new story.
