This one is a classic and for good reason! I've seen it several times and it never gets old. The only downside to it is that the British humor falls flat for some people (My fiance just does not understand why I think this movie is so funny.) Anyways, great cast, good jokes and a humorously executed plot make this one a must see if you haven't seen it already.

Not to sound sexist or anything, but Python is a lot like the Three Stooges.....chicks just don't get it.

Not all chicks, mind you....but most.

i hope the "chicks" thing didn't sound too sexist either.

Four Flies on Gray Velvet
I was looking forward to seeing this film, even though I've dropped out of the Dario Argento fan club, simply because his earlier giallos were better executed. Alas, it was not to be. This film suffered from a number of flaws which made it almost altogether unwatchable.

Comedy of Terrors
Always a pleasure to watch Vincent Price, Peter Lorre, Basil Rathbone, and especially Boris Karloff working together under Jacques Tourneur's direction. I haven't laughed this much in months.

Made

This gets funnier every time I see it. I think it might be Vince Vaughn's funniest performance and if you liked Swingers but haven't seen this, consider it a must see. Cool plot, great actors, Vince Vaughn at his best, what more can you ask for?

Killjoy

Wow, this movie wasn't very good at all and I almost find it hard to believe it spawned a sequel. Pretty bad acting, no gore, terrible CGI, and a HORRIBLE plot make this one worth skipping.

The Plague

Well, I ended up watching this on IFC this morning because there was nothing else on. It's about a that gets quarantines in the mid 1900s after an outbreak of of the Plague and the story of the doctor trying to help the people. I don't know... I found it to be a little confusing, very slow moving and rather boring. Not very entertaining at all in my opinion...

When it wasn't boring, Dead Birds scared the everliving shit out of me. (The kid under the bed made me jump out of my skin).

Cabin Fever has a really original kind of idea with the whole disease thing and that idea really creeps me out. I guess it was just really effective. I just enjoyed it, although I know alot of you hate it.

Wrong Turn, on the other hand, just pissed me off. Everytime it would get kind of tense or scary, they'd ruin it by having one of those damn things release a high-pitch giggle or show some really bad effects. And that girl pissed me off. BIG time.

bwind22 11-28-2005 09:04 AM

Rapid Fire

This movie feels older than it is. It has all the cheesy lines, music and action of a mid 80s Chuck Norris or Rambo style movie but it came out in 92. Acting was mediocre, action was pretty good, plot was pretty basic for an action movie. Aside from The Crow, I think this is the only other Brandon Lee movie I've seen. It was a decent action flick but nothing spectacular.

Just saw "The Sentinel" last night. Not a bad movie. But I had to laugh when it said "starring Christopher Walken" even though he had like maybe 2 lines in the whole movie. :) Not super gory or ultra fast paced, but still a classic.

Is this the movie where they find the door to hell in an apartment building and the girl that moves in there is suppose to take over watching over it?
If so,I clearly don't remember Christopher Walken...what scene was he in?

zomb5150 11-29-2005 08:29 AM

just watched the Skeleton key, not bad.
I wouldn't buy it but it was entertaining.

The Lost Boys

Good cast and acting. Pretty average direction, but no real on screen gore, which is a bit disappointing. Corey Haim sporting some of the most ridiculously 80's clothing ever caught on tape is reason enough to rent this vampire classic though. And any movie with both Corey's, Kiefer Sutherland, and Alex Preston (Bill from Bill & Ted's) is alright by me.

The Fearless Four 9 / 10

bwind22 12-01-2005 09:49 AM

Black Christmas

This is a very well done older slasher film. The budget seems low because pretty much all of the gore happens off screen (Think Halloween) but the acting is just fine. This movie was 4 years ahead of Halloween and seems like it played a fairly big influence in John Carpenter's style. A nice little twist at the ending of this to make considerably less cheery than the Hollywood norm makes it a worthy rent.

B+

Psycho II

I really enjoy this film and over the years it has grown to become one of my favorite sequels. It was filmed like 17 years after the first one and the story takes 17 years after the events of the first one as well. The story is cool and twisted, Anthony Perkins is back reprising the role of Norman Bates and the ending is superb! If you enjoyed the original Psycho, then I think you should give this sequel a shot. You won't be disappointed.
