This is either the best film ever or the worst - it is closely based on the Bram Stoker story about a group of furry bikini man hating women who raid the local country side to...well to raid. Young author, Bram Stoker gets caught up in their feminist antics and in love with one of the buxon blonde amazons. More stuff happens and the ratqueen, Adrienne Barbeau cuts the head of a rat with a mini guillotine. Good stuff.

Adrienne Barbeau hates this movie .. calls it 'that rat movie'
I have it but still haven't watched it yet.
Doesn't Linnea have a small role in it as well ?

But I got a weird sense of humour.

They Live (1988)

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...ps9a9f38cf.jpg

This was actually my first time seeing this and I liked it for the most part. I thought that the long fight scene between Roddy Piper and Keith David was unnecessary (and pretty lame), but I assume that they had to have Piper showing off his wrestling skills... somehow...?

I actually loved the concept and think that the execution was creepy. It's something that I'd actually love to see redone as I think it's a bit dated. I loved the very end, especially, when the satellite was destroyed.

eXistenZ (1999)

Ehh. Wow. Well, I can't believe that this came out in 1999 as it has more of that 80's feel (for better or for worse). I absolutely loved the concept and love the creepy biotech but, honestly, I thought that the writing was pretty terrible. Also, I don't think I like Jennifer Jason Leigh. I don't think she can act very well. I don't understand her appeal TBH. Didn't get very far into it.

A Fantastic Fear of Everything (2012)

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...ps0e16625d.jpg

I really, REALLY loved this. Sure, it was definitely purposefully odd, frenetic and a bit uneven, but here's a character piece set within the mind of a mad writer - How could it be anything else?

Quick glance on IMDB and Rotten Tomatoes, looks like this movie is NOT being received well critically, most likely because of how over-the-top and uneven the tone is. I think the ads are misleading too as they advertise something more madcap and less dark than what we get.

Felt like the darker side of Neil Gaiman wrestling his own Poe-like demons wrapped up with an oddly Wes Anderson-esque conclusion.

Oh, and Pegg is utterly captivating and brilliant. He carries a good 80% of the movie by himself; scenes with other characters are IMO the weakest.

Completely enjoyable and look forward to checking it out again.

I couldn't disagree more -

the fight was a high point in the movie for me ... completely necessary ... one of my all time favourites and I've seen a lot of people cite it as one of their favourite fights as well ... (another favourite of mine being the hallway fight in Gross Pointe Blank) It was very real, and unreal at the same time .. I thought I was absolutely perfect.

And I can't see it as being dated in a way that demands a remake .. I do see it as being dated in a fun and nostalgic way though.

It's one of my favourite films ... fun as hell from beginning to end ..

but yeah - that's the first time I've ever seen anyone not love that fight ..

one of my favourite collectibles is a Japanese import laserdisc of this movie ..

I've got Roddy, Meg, Carpenter, and Howarth's signatures on it .

I met Keith David but I didn't have the damn thing with me :(
