Last movie I "saw" was also Saw II, liked it a lot and actually it was more fun this time because you knew there would be a twist and were trying to guess it. A lot of the stuff was predictable but there were a couple good surprises and some great traps.

The last movie I saw was Alien 'cause I bought the special edition for 8 Euros. It's the kind of film that I can see over and over again and never get tired of see it

Watched Spinal Tap last night, had forgotten how funny it is.

I watched Black Scorpion - creature feature jazz with funky stop motion FX - not bad

Deep Rising, a stupid yet oddly entertaining sea monster movie directed by the otherwise awful Stephen Sommers. I have an irrational fear of squids, so maybe that's why I found this movie enjoyable.

I share the same fear of underwater...things.

But I TiVO'd this movie and fast forwarded at least an hour into it and saw no monster yet. So I got bored and deleted it.

The Sixth Sense.

Enjoyable the first time as long as anyone didn't fuck the ending over for you.

This was my second time and it was equally enjoyable because you notice different "clues" and what not.

I'm sure if I ever see it again, though, it'll suck.

Revenge of the Sith

You know, I actually enjoyed it a hell of a lot more than I thought I would. :D

The Changeling

This was a decent film but after having people tell me I should see it for the last year, I was expecting it to be a little better than it was. For starters, I'm not a real big fan Hauntings/Ghost Stories as a sub-genre. The acting was fine and the movie started off cool enough, but then it seemed to drag for about an hour before finally getting towards the semi-interesting stuff at the end. All in all, this one was a little too slow moving and lacking in gore content for my taste, but not a terrible movie...

Saw 2

Alright, well I am one of those people who thought the twist at the end of the first one sucked ass so I wasn't really expecting much when I saw this one. To my surprise, I found it quite a bit more enjoyable than the first one with more elaborate, more gruesome deaths and the best part, a twist that didn't fuck everything up. Another upside was that none of the actor's appeared to be trying to hard, as I felt was the case with the blond John Tesh looking guy throughout the entire first movie.

A-

Home Alone 2: Lost in New York

It never ceases to amaze me how much punishment Harry and Marv can endure while continuing to come back for more. definately not as good as the original, but still a quality sequel. The plot is even more hard to believe than part one and the booby traps set by Kevin aren't as good. All in all, it's a pretty good kids movie, a pretty good sequel, and a pretty good holiday movie.

It's been a lazy-assed day of nothing but movies, computer time and munchies. I've watched these today:

Street Trash
Constintine
TCM (remake)
The Last Horror Movie
The Thing
The Forsaken (watching now)

Just saw Jarhead. Pretty good for a war type film...not much actual "war" and made me smile quite a bit (nekked men in there) 8/10

Dawn of the Dead, 2003, is not a fucking classic! Neither is Land, or....never mind, I won't even bother.

Peace Hotel

Pretty good movie although really not what I expected. Translation was surprisingly poor, wish the subtitles were better. I did enjoy the story though, not bad, I'd give it a 6.5/10.

This is one of those 'little engine that could' movies.
I could totally see the vision but the editor must have been on drugs.

Mysterious Skin. For once, I am truly impressed with Gregg Araki. Who would have ever thought that the man responsible for the worst film of the Nineties (Doom Generation, if you must know) could create such a thoughtful and subtle drama? In a nutshell, this film is about how sexual abuse destroys the lives of the victims. It's sad and uplifting at the same time, if that makes any sense. Overall, I give it 8/10.

bwind22 11-15-2005 10:16 PM

The Skeleton Key

It was better than I thought. I've always been a fan of voodoo movies because there are actually people out there that believe it exists and practice it so it makes it that much creepier. I thought the acting was good and the story was pretty original. There isn't really any gore but the ending I really liked the ending. Not what you'd expect. Anyways, I wasn't expecting much from this, but it was actually pretty good.

From Dusk Til Dawn 2: Texas Blood Money

Well this one starts off with 2 of my favorite actors (Bruce Campbell and Tiffani Amber Thiessen <Kelly Kapowski from Saved by the Bell>) but unfortunately they both get killed in the first 5 minutes and the film progresses downhill from there. The story had some interesting potential, but wasn't executed very well. The acting was mid-range but nothing special. The gore was minimal and the FX were pretty bad for the most part. There are a few very cool camera shots, but nothing I'd recommend seeing a crappy movie for. All in all, this is a terrible follow up to an excellent vampire film, but still an average horror movie when compared to other films....
