"Casino royale"

Thought it was kinda boring actually.

Found both Daniel Craig and Mads Mikkelsen to be very dull and colorless in their acting.

Still would have prefered to see Clive Owen as Bond.

Evil Dead Trap

Can't believe I've waited this long to see it, it was a blast. Gore filled, crazy, and a lot of fun. It was like a Japenese slasher with Italian sensibilities.

Fiend Without a Face

A pioneer of the genre, couldn't be more pleased.

The Island of Dr. Moreau. 08/10

John Frankenheimer has made a fantastic adaptation of the H.G.Wells' timeless classic. The effects by Stan Winston are superb and amazing to watch. Marlon Brando is magnificient, and Val Kilmer is flawless. A pacy and smooth movie. Recommended.

Popping in TCM: The Beginning later tonite.

Species

I hadn't seen this for years so I figured I'd give it a watch. It was a little better than I had remembered it. The storyline is pretty cool & the gore is decent. The acting is good. I wasn't crazy about the ending, but it wasn't terrible or anything, it just could have been done better. There were also a few flashes of some pretty rough looking CGI, but not so much that it stands out as a glaring flaw.

Species 2

I was surprised to find out that this was actually a pretty decent sequel. The plot flowed pretty well, alot of the same actors returned and the gore was, again, pretty decent. This series has an interesting take on alien lifeforms and how they might end up on Earth and/or go about destroying it.

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning

It was cool to get a little bit of the backstory & see some more of the family but overall, this was a fairly run of the mill hillbilly horror film. The acting's fine, the gore is pretty good, R. Lee Ermey is great, but the film is pretty predictable because we know which family members make it to the next one. I was entertained, but not blown away or anything.
