I bought a reprinted dvd copy of the film NED KELLY few days ago. Last night I saw the film and got surprised with it's "Extra" features:

* A music video from the movie SCHOOL OF ROCK
* Making of KILL BILL VOL. 1 by interviewing with Tarantino & Thurman
* Making of DAREDEVIL hosting by Jennifer Garner
* Deleted scenes of 50 FIRST DATES
* Trailer of EIGHT CRAZY NIGHTS
* Interview of an unknown woman (I couldn't recognize her and I'm quite sure that she even not a part of the movie fraternity; cause she wasn't talking about movies!)

I'll soon order it on e-bay.

Recently some e-bay sellers offered me the following box sets; are they worth to buy?

Hammer House Of Horror - Complete Collection

http://i9.ebayimg.com/03/i/001/13/b9/03e0_1.JPG

Contains: Witching time, The Thirteenth reunion, Rude Awaking, Growing pains, The House that bled to death, Silent Scream, Children of the full moon, Carpathian Eagle, Guardian of the Abyss, Visitor from the grave, Two faces of evil, The mark of Satan.

Hellraiser Trilogy (DVD 2004) 4 Disc Boxset

http://i9.ebayimg.com/03/c/03/0c/b6/22_8.JPG

Contains 'Hellraiser', 'Hellbound - Hellraiser 2', 'Hellraiser 3 - Hell On Earth' and two Clive Barker short films.

I saw only one part from the Hellraiser series quite a long time ago and I can't remember any single thing about that part.:(

The_Return 11-06-2008 05:12 AM

First two Hellraiser's are really good, especially the first....the 3rd was bad enough that I lost all interest in watching the rest.

roshiq 11-07-2008 11:11 PM

Quai des Orfèvres (1947)

L' Âge d'or [The Golden Age] (1930)

Also bought Suddenly, last summer (1959) but I have to exchange it next time, cause the damn disc was scratched one!

How much is that Hammer set worth, Roshiq? If its cheap, go for it.

I would suggest these from ebay :-

http://cgi.ebay.com/HAMMER-HORROR-SE...1%7C240%3A1318

http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-Hammer-Horro...1%7C240%3A1318

See if you can find a decent one with a cheaper price. Those are some good movies from Hammer well worth of keeping in your collection.

Wow! Both are really awesome box sets you recommend. Thanks a lot man! I'll definitely try my best to find them in a reasonable price.

Actually the sad thing is I have seen only one film from Hammer production (To The Devil A Daughter) so far, that's why I'm eagerly waiting to see other highly acclaimed Hammer films.

Btw, the price of that Hammer House Of Horror - Complete Collection is $31 including shipping & handling. But I'm now more interested on the 6 Pack Hammer Horror collection of your recommendation.

Yeah..that's one of the best film of Al Pacino where he gave an extraordinary performance, I just simply love that movie. And like Dog Day Afternoon I have seen some of the films of this box set already and also have the dvds separately (Serpico, Scarface, Devil's advocate, Insomnia, Recruit, 88 minutes) but still I bought it cause I think it's undoubtedly a great box set that anyone like to have on his/her collection.

I'm now just waiting for some holidays here to have an unforgettable (back to back) "Al Pacino Movie Night"!

Thanks for the suggestion.:)

I enjoyed Return To The Batcave when I caught it on TV a couple of years back. The bit where they have to tone down Robin's crotch had me laughing my ass off.
Vamp is great didn't know that one was out on DVD. Hell Ride is dope... you should watch all the old school biker flicks you've got before you give it a spin.

Yeh dude we discussed The Loveless a few times.

I'm a big fan of biker flicks I've got a bunch on tape I nabbed off the MGM channel when I had it. I'll have to pick up a copy of Fixing The Shadow, Michael Madsen makes a badass biker.... loved that flick when I was a teenager.

So... good haul?

Sounds like it, but is Salo really worth 35$?

Stopped by Big Lots the other night after work to pick up some dish soap and walked out with a bag full of DVDs (each cost 3$ a piece):

The Missing - the unrated extended cut

The Replacement Killers

Psycho 3

Bats - uncut R rated version

Psycho (remake) - figured it might be worth three bucks to watch Anne Heche take a shower.

The Boogeyman (1980) and Return Of The Boogeyman (double feature) - Yeah, I know -- Ulli Lommel -- but I got them mostly to check out Suzanna Love who stars in each.

The Hunt For The BTK Killer (NOT the Ulli Lommel mess)

my buddy who bought me the hd-dvd player - just bought me a blu-ray player this weekend .. het got a sweet deal so he bought one for me and one for himself.

nice to have a couple ..but i wont be buying blu-ray movies very often though - too expensive. you wont be finding them for $5 - like the HD DVDs are

Elvis_Christ 11-16-2008 05:01 PM

Sounds like a good buddy :)

I'll probably get one at some stage when I invest in a decent TV. They seem to be taking off over here. HD DVD wasn't very popular (still hasn't put the price down for the discs tho).

funny thing is HD DVD was actually superior in quality - uses a better codec.
but this was one battle Sony couldnt afford to lose so they went for the throat.

my buddy is obsessed with quality. i can appreciate it to a point but after that it's kind of lost on me. most films dont call for hi-def - but the odd one does and it looks pretty cool.

he's always complaining that i have my aspect ratios all messed up - the people are stretched out, etc..

i dont even notice :D he probably thinks i'm half blind
