Interesting replies. What Dante said isnt too implausible either. Adrenalin does tend to make you do funny things when your brain's gone into blind mode.

And the assailants having weapons is debatable. If they had any, they would be holding it or using it. Its what any normal attacker would do.

Ferox has a point about attacking one of the two rapists from behind and taking him by surprise. One good, solid blow to the legs would be enough to make him go down howling, rather than bashing him in the head and be more chancy of him dying on you. Then it will be 1 on 1, and the odds get even better.

You can basically save one of them. The time it takes in-between wont let you go to the aid of the other, and let's face it, by the time you are finished with one group, the other would have done their job already.

Ergo, the choice.

If you can see them both, it stands to reason that you could help the guy first, and the chick wouldn't be in any immediate danger of imminent death...
I think anything you COULD do that might effect the outcome would make you the target though.

Just make a commotion, or like attack with a baseball bat....if you don't mind the danger...they'll stop if they think they could get brained. I wouldn't personally care if someone died. Scum deserves to be taken out. If I were to actually throw myself into attack, I'd expect it would be likely ending for me if I didn't end them. Though with each fuck-someone-up or kill, I think the rest would be less likely to approach you.
It's not like you'd stick around after.
Of course, it would never happen...as much as I'd like to, I'm not usually carrying weapons.
Taking them at distance with arrows would be cool though.

I would pull out my Glock and shoot a few, I imagine the rest would run after seeing their punk buddies laying mortally wounded in the street. If not, I have enough bullets for the rest of them.

I'd just walk into the nearest bar and start reassessing my life, ask myself why the hell am I in this town?
