I look at gay pride the same as any other kind of pride people have about their identities. No one seems to have problems with Latinos having their parade to celebrate their culture and identity. I think it's great when people take pride in themselves and celebrate who they are.

I agree 100% with you

I would like to see the reactions to a "Straight White Men" parade.

It's not the pride or the pride parades that I have a problem with, it's the way it seems to increase the feeling that we're not all equals. And as you said, people have no problem with latinos, they wouldn't with black people, asians, gay people etc. But if there was a pride parade exclusively for white english or white american people, it would be seen as a Racist statement of people going for supremacy. I just wish all of the things that keep people seeing differences would go, and we'd all just be people, all of us proud of ourselves and eavh other. Each one different to the next, but all equal. But I suppose, due to the stubbornness and bigotry of some people, maybe pride parades etc. are the way to go about it. I'm not sure.

You're not celebrating your heritage, you're celebrating who you like to fuck.

After Obama, maybe we'll elect a lesbian to the Oval Office and then people will start to realize that majority of Americans do consider everyone equal.

Love the banner ad on the top of the page by the way. I hope you all took the quiz...

Why shouldn't we all celebrate the people we like to fuck? I bet my boyfriend would love if I threw him a parade :-P

Seriously though, if people were proud of being white or straight or whatever, I wouldn't care if they wanted to have their own parades. White people just tend to narrow their pride into their nationalities or heritages like Irish/Celtic Parades or Germanic Parades.

I think it might be cool if instead of gay pride parades they just called them free love parades or something, and everyone could celebrate who they love/want to fuck...then straight people could be included and the whole equality issue here could be solved.
