I don't cook food just for her, but if I'm eating something I find suitable for a kitty, she gets it too. Like last night we had fish, she loved it. Tonight I'm having flautas, so she just gets bits of chicken out of it, and her "indoor cat chow", which she seems to like...she sure does eat enough of it (fat kitty)..she LOVES cheese, and she gets a saucer of milk about every other day...so I think she's all good food wise.
About the water thing...she just gets plain ol tap water. I grew up on it, so has she...and I actually think our water here tastes great, so no expensive bottle shit. That stuff tastes the same as tap water to me, I think people are just brainwashed into thinking it's more "pure"...what's next, is everyone gonna stock up to bathe in the shit?

1. Be careful with the milk - when she becomes an adult don't give it to her anymore as it can cause worms in adult cats.

2. I don't buy expensive bottled water. Just spring water. Tastes better than the crap around here.

We have to buy bottled water and since it is the most popular brand here,Aquafina is goodly priced.

As far as your kitty's diet, Taurine is a must (it is for the health of the eyes)
This is the one ingredient that my vet says is essential if you decide to Make your cat's food.

I am glad to hear you are enjoying your new cat:)

@TM and Novakru...Do "they" not filter your water? I know water just tastes like shit some places around here, and I can't figure out why it's so different if it's filtered properly. There's a town about 80 miles from St. Louis called Elsberry, and their water tastes TERRIBLE! It's like it has sulphur in it I think, because when you drink it you can taste it, and when you shower it smells terrible (you know, that "rotting egg" smell you get after lighting fireworks)...so if you got something like that going on I can see why you need bottled water, and bagged ice. If MY water was like that I'd just move, it's really discusting. But here, it's all good for me, tastes like nothing but pure refreshment.

Why does milk cause worms in adult cats? Soraya is a little under 2, so she isn't a kitten anymore...should I really stop giving it to her? What about cheese? is it ALL dairy foods she shouldn't have? I've always given my cats milk in the past, they never got worms.

And thanks Novakru, she is really cool to have around....She's WAY too sweet.

I do not trust my tap water because of 2 reasons:
1.)It has a metallic taste.
2.)My skin itches and feels dry after a shower or bath(not a good sign of high water quality)

I like the new pic of your kitt marroe
:)

I don't know the cause, it's something I've read in many cat magazines and in the books I had when I was taking a Veterinary Assistant course. The books never said anything about other dairy products, just milk.

I have four animals (one at one house and three at another with my fiance). Three cats (Gypsy, Philo, and Space Ghost) and a puppy (Pheobe). I hope I can get pics up, especially of Gypsy who's about 20 now and has had a crazy life (including when she, in my opinion, killed her last vet).
