Walking Dead.

I still like the show but the group needs to get rid of Andrea. What a worthless or just plain lost character. She hasn't really protected the group at all except for when her partner in crime let the zombies out of the barn. Also, nothing has changed with Shane. That last shot of Shane still looking at the wandering zombie tells all. Rick will have to deal with him again eventually.

They FUCKED SHIT UP.
I can't say I've been liking this series that much so far, but this last episode has made up for a bit of a weak start.

CSI

This show has been through a lot of changes over the years but I think it's still one of the best shows on the air. And Ted Danson, whom I have never been very fond of, is great as the new lead.

His character in "Bored To Death" is actually pretty amusing too, I've never been a great fan of his either.

Tonight, I will be watching the first episode of this:

I really hope it lives up to it's potential, it looks just...excellent...

I caught on to CSI late, I need to go back and start at the beginning but it is a good show. I like CSI Miami more just because at times it feels like the Wild West with Horatio Caine as the law man. But back to the original CSI, Ted Danson's character was borderline incompetent an episode or so ago. It was the case with the guy collecting women's hair before killing them. All of them should have been in protective custody.

I'm watching Lost Girl on Syfy. It's not really scary but it has monsters. The last episode had a scary spider.

neverending 03-01-2012 07:34 PM

The reason you like CSI: Miami is exactly why I don't care for it. The original CSI was showing the science of criminal investigations. It was populated by nerds & misfits, and it showed how police work is a team effort between a lot of different departments. The innovative graphics illustrated scientific principles in a visually interesting manner.

The two other CSIs are just regular cop shows with a modicum of science thrown in to justify the name. At the head is a macho gun tottin' cop who always gets his man. Yawn.

cheebacheeba 03-02-2012 04:17 AM

I watched the debut episode of "Awake" last night.

For those that aren't aware of the show, it's about a person living his life across two parallel realities after a traumatic accident.
There's numerous reasons/theories throughout the course of the show as to why the protagonist is experiencing this - and it's quite thought provoking.
It also has elements of the run-of-the-mill crime drama, though makes it interesting with each reality slightly bleeding into the other.

Well acted on all parts, a few familiar faces from Lost, The Practice, that 70's show, the 4400 and the main character himself is of Harry Potter films among other things.
It's got characters that I find myself giving a shit about, and a compelling storyline in which I find myself torn between which reality I want to believe is the "real" one.

It's actually a bit of a tear jerker...deals with pretty devastating loss, and what seems to be a gradual descent into either madness or despair for the main character, ha, didn't think I'd feel for a character as such.

But yeah overall I'm finding it to be a pretty solid concept, and while not treading entirely unfamiliar ground, is doing what it's doing quite well.
Great musical score too.

I'd recommend having a look at the first episode.
Trailer again: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CfPVoiQKFvk
Plenty of torrents up of the first ep.
Honestly, check it out.

The Villain 03-03-2012 05:58 AM

I have Awake on my DVR ready to watch. I'm glad to hear that its good.

It's funny how different the two shows CSI shows are. I've never watched the NY version except for that tie in episode with Dr. Langston. I think Raylan Givens from Justified summed up Miami perfectly when he said something like it's lots of sun with shady people.

neverending 03-03-2012 08:55 PM

There are 3 CSIs... I'm talking about the original show, set in Las Vegas.

I stopped watching when William Petersen left.

NCIS.

I'm behind an episode but the one I just watched has a cameo or possible reoccurring role played by Jamie Lee Curtis.

Yeah, no problem! It's a lot of fun to watch. I usually DVR it on either Discovery or the Science Channel.

Fearonsarms 03-06-2012 05:38 PM

Psychoville series 1-hugely recommended, adorable dark humour at its best :)
Pyschoville series 2-a complete cop out, a cheating steaming pile of shit that I wish I could un-see that actually makes you feel guilty for liking the first by association how it went from amazing to catastrophic I'll never know. I'll be giving the Halloween special a huge avoid.

neverending 03-06-2012 05:48 PM

I like the first series better, but I didn't hate the 2nd. I loved the creepy librarian and the weird character he kept seeing.

I don't want to give spoilers to explain some of the reasons why I hated it so much (as it was mainly the plot and the characterization felt too cliched) but anyway my point was I ADORED the first series and was so excited about the second series but it just failed completely for me, I didn't think the new direction worked however it was brave I suppose. Though yes that pigtailed freaky character was good but not enough to save the series for me.

Elvis_Christ 03-06-2012 09:48 PM

Awake

Not bad at all. Interesting premise and it's started off well... it usually takes me a couple of episodes to get into a show but I'm down with this one right away. Hopefully it'll turn out to be a great show and not lose steam.

Oh, nice! Some of the most insanely brilliant comedy writing ever. The first season is great, but the second season in unbelievable. It drops down a bit in the third, but it's still amazing. It's one of those shows you can watch dozens of times and still catch new jokes. You're in for a treat.

i missed it when it started so playing catch up but it's bloody hilarious, i heard there making a movie of it, thats when they ruin the series in my opinion.

Yeah, they'd planned on making one after the series was cancelled, just to tie up some loose ends. As of now, the entire cast and creative crew has signed on to do a movie and a short fourth season leading up to the movie. Supposedly it's going to come out next year sometime.

leezuki 03-09-2012 02:25 AM

still watching arrested development, going to start watching angry video game nerd as well, saw a clip of it on youtube and it looked bloody hilarious.

Yeah, me too. I know for years after it was over, they kept saying that they would, but I think that finally fizzled out.
