That's going to be tough when they stop making HD format. Blu-Ray has officially won the format war. Why do you think that HD player was so cheap? Five years from now there won't be any new HD discs released.

I'd say!

Quite a big and excellent haul for the birthday.

What happened? Parents gave you enough cash to go on a shopping spree? ;)

Geddy 08-24-2008 11:01 AM

Aw hell yeah- that's where I get all mine from.
They have so many classic 2-discers and box sets for such rediculously low prices. Love that place.

Geddy 08-24-2008 11:44 AM

Yeah, Costco's pretty kickass. I might go up there later this week to pick up The Alien Quadrilogy, I think it's 35 bucks there.

So is the Kubrick boxset (with all the 2-disc SEs) and the John Ford/ John Wayne set.

they already stopped :)

there's only about 750 titles available.

I still like it because it also improves the quality of regular DVDs

I dont think Blu-Ray will replace DVDs .. pretty sure they will go the way of the laserdisc ... Better quality (than dvd) but only serious movie fans will care.
unless the price comes way down - and fast.
Something else - because both HD and Blu-Ray are so expensive - they wont rish pitting out non-blockbuster titles.

pretty useless to us horror/fringe/underground/genre collectors
