The Quiet B
This film featured a very unique concept that offered a lot of promise, and had a handful of scenes that had equally interesting concepts behind them... unfourtunately, it wasn't executed as well as it could have been. I believe it could have been a lot more dramatic, as it has enough material to set up countless "twists" and "cliffhanger scenes". It would add a sense of adrenaline to the film. The setting is destinctively dark, very little lighting being used, and metaphors (such as the lighting) are scattered throughout. The most obvious being the house in repair representing the work that needs to be done in the family unit. They also need repairing. It's one of those films that deals with a controversial issue, and doesn't downplay anything (including high school life... it's not all bunnies and rainbows; the cheerleaders are big sluts) So here's a B for The Quiet... for offering great concepts, just not knowing how to execute them, and for showing my perhaps Camilla Bell has SOME acting talent. (Though the acting of the two female leads weren't that great anyway)

Wishmaster 2

I really liked the original and high hopes for theis because it was written and directed by Jack Scholder. Not as good as the first and some really crap CGI effects ruined it for me (the locusts scene just made me shake my head). Still this was good fun and had a couple of great moments.... worth the $2 I spent on it.

Candy, It's based on a novel of the same name. It's about a couple of junkies who live in Sydney, I haven't read the book but i'm aware of it, the movie was pretty good, you couldn't help but laugh at the junkies somtimes, and then others times look staright in the dark and empty lives they ocupie.

7/10

Calvaire (The Ordeal) -- This is one crazy movie, and I'm not really sure whether I liked it. You have to see it to understand what I mean because there is absolutely no way I can even begin to explain it. All I can say is that it has one of the most disturbing barroom scenes I've seen in a movie in...well, forever.
