I recently went through the Blade films and have a hard time picking between the first two. I can see why Blade II would be someone's favorite and it's a kick-ass movie, but the first is also awesome.

Interesting to see someone add Batman to the lineup. I wouldn't go with the reboot series myself but that's me. Personally I think Batman (1989) was the best, especially as far as a horror theme goes. Returns was even darker. I wish they had kept the theme going (even though I love Batman Forever). Dark Batman is best Batman. Pointless to dress like a bat if you can't invoke a fearful image in your foes, and the last three made never had that for me.

Jigsaw Killer 12-06-2015 06:55 PM

Batman isn't Horror, but I'm also of the small group who felt TDKR was the best Batman film thus far.

Looking forward to seeing the 1983 anthology Nightmares when it hits Blu-ray in another week from now from Scream Factory. I caught it on the Sci-Fi Channel years ago but the only segment I remember well is The Bishop Of Battle.

Recently bought this on Blu-ray and will be seeing it very soon. The Bishop Of Battle is the one segment always remembered and talked about from this. I don't think I've seen this anthology since the early 2000s at least when it was on the Sci-Fi Channel.

Chevalier 12-29-2015 07:28 PM

Friday The 13th - The original.

Halloween - The first movie.

A Nightmare On Elm Street - The first was the best, but Dream Warriors was a close second.

Evil Dead - Evil Dead II is the best. Hands down.

Jigsaw Killer 12-29-2015 07:56 PM

What about the other series, seen them?

I've seen them, but most of them sometime ago. Really just got back into horror a few months ago, and need to brush up after being out the genre for about four years or so. When I have more free time, I plan on binge watching the other series, and when I formed a more recent opinion, I will let you know it.

Jigsaw Killer 01-02-2016 05:53 AM

I get it.

Jigsaw Killer 01-04-2016 11:53 PM

Having seen the Nightmares anthology for the first time in many years, The Bishop Of Battle is still the best segment as I remembered.

Jigsaw Killer 01-23-2016 04:08 PM

I may have mentioned them before, the Hatchet films come to mind. Seen the first two and thought 2 was much better than the first, not seen the third, yet.

Lord Voldemort 01-23-2016 11:49 PM

Same here. Tho I think Hatchet 1 is a great horror flick.

Jigsaw Killer 01-31-2016 04:04 PM

It's been a long time since I last watched either but I remember being unimpressed with the original.

Jigsaw Killer 02-04-2016 10:01 PM

Remembered The Fly. There's the 1958 original and it's two sequels plus Cronenberg's remake and it's sequel. This will raise some eyebrows but I honestly enjoy The Fly II the most.

Jigsaw Killer 02-10-2016 03:25 PM

The new Purge out this Summer reminds me that's another that'll become a trilogy this year. I thought the first was so-so and the sequel was much better, so it should be interesting to see how this one turns out.

darkdetective 02-17-2016 12:02 AM

I have a soft spot for the Saw movies.
I think the 6th film is very underrated. It's my favourite one next to the first and third ones.

Jigsaw Killer 02-20-2016 04:02 PM

Carrie is a good one for this. Believe it or not just recently I saw the original as well as the 2013 remake. Loved the original and the remake while not as good is surprisingly not too bad. Not seen the original's much-maligned sequel or the 2002 cable remake but I aim to seek them out.

Jigsaw Killer 03-09-2016 04:28 PM

A new Amityville film is out next month. I'm way behind on that series. Going by the trailer for the upcoming film it looks kinda okay but I don't see it being considered the best of it's series by very many.

Actually it's moved back to next January ::mad::

Jigsaw Killer 03-09-2016 10:40 PM

Found out just now about it being pushed back. Probably for the best to make it much better if the movie is really as bad as some of the test screenings made it out to be.

I heard the test screenings were very positive...

Jigsaw Killer 03-11-2016 04:55 PM

I heard some very pretty negative. Guess those who disliked it are in the minority. Hopefully these reshoots will make it considerably better.

Jigsaw Killer 03-23-2016 01:02 AM

I'll be seeing the 1972 Tales From The Crypt movie and The Vault Of Horror soon after getting Scream Factory's double feature with both. Been ages since I watched them, I remember watching the old TFTC movie a lot as a kid and always liking it. Should be interesting to see which segment I enjoy from each the most.

As a kid I always found the movie much more bearable than the show, the Crypt Keeper of the show scared me too much as a kid.

Jigsaw Killer 03-31-2016 03:56 AM

And having finally seen both for the first time in years, my favorite segment in each respective film is Poetic Justice and Drawn And Quartered.

1890 Media 03-31-2016 04:22 AM

Friday The 13th - Part 2

Halloween - Part 2 - but I think 3 stands alone great on it's own.

A Nightmare On Elm Street - 1st

Saw - 1

Scream 1

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre - The Beginning

Alien- original

Predator - original

Phantasm -2

Evil Dead - original

Hellraiser - original

Child's Play - never cared for

Final Destination -3

Jigsaw Killer 04-01-2016 03:12 PM

I also like TCM: The Beginning. I'm something of a Horror heretic in that when it comes to the TCM films the remake and it's prequel are my favorites of the series.

Jigsaw Killer 04-15-2016 04:20 PM

Can't remember if I mentioned Psycho before. Believe it or not I've yet to see them minus the fourth film which was a prequel. The current Bates Motel show has been my sole Psycho exposure otherwise.

Jigsaw Killer 05-04-2016 02:39 PM

The third Purge comes out in a couple of months. Should be interesting to see how it fares, I didn't much care for the first Purge but the sequel was vastly superior. The third so far looks promising and whether it'll be the best, who knows.

Jigsaw Killer 05-27-2016 08:51 PM

The Conjuring 2 is out in a few more weeks, making it the third film in the series after the original and the Annabelle prequel. I enjoyed the prior two so where this one will stand, who knows.

I love Conjuring but found Annabelle meh. I honestly don't remember anything from it which is, IMO, worse than being a bad movie.

Jigsaw Killer 06-26-2016 02:39 PM

The Conjuring 2 was surprisingly excellent and IMO better than the first.

Jigsaw Killer 07-01-2016 07:16 PM

The Purge: Election Year was pretty good and I quite enjoyed it, but I think Anarchy is probably the overall best of the series thus far. Both Anarchy and Election Year are good sequels though and IMO far better than the first.

I think I liked Election Year a tad more than Anarchy. Love all 3 though.

Jigsaw Killer 07-02-2016 05:43 PM

I enjoy the series as well and welcome a fourth film. I still want to see a prequel showing the very first Purge.

I'm with you.

Jigsaw Killer 07-02-2016 07:37 PM

I'd even like to see a sequel set after Election Year. I think the concept is one that can lead to multiple films.

Jigsaw Killer 07-26-2016 01:26 PM

Blair Witch will be eligible for this come September when the surprise third movie comes out. I've only seen the original which I find okay though definitely overrated. I like the actual Blair Witch story and background but the movie isn't really my cup of tea. Never saw the second one.

Blair Witch 2 is a very messy movie but I think it's worth watching for the whole ESREVER idea. If you play certain scenes backwards in REVERSE, little hidden images appear on screen. It was kind of a novelty for the dvd era but I thought it was actually quite creepy in a way.

The movie forwards is a bit of a mess due to studio interference but there are some very good ideas at play there!

Jigsaw Killer 07-27-2016 03:48 PM

I'll check out Blair Witch 2 one of these days. The original wasn't nearly as bad as I remembered it and the sequel has it's share of fans.

I really liked the first one, but I haven't seen it since it came out. The sequel is not like the film, so don't go in expect a similar style. Its a fun film, shrug.
