Well, I'm completely certain NOBODY else here has been introduced to the magic of Opal Whiteley. So be it. I answered the questions honestly, instead of going for a power answer.

Opal Whiteley- you inspired me when I read your wonderful words. Thank you for the experience.

By the Singing Creek Where the Willows Grow.

hammerfan 06-29-2009 10:10 AM

Dracula

So, neverending, you recommend the book, yes?

Haha... honestly- to most people here, no.

A few, yes. Read about Opal Whiteley first.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Opal_Whiteley

Part of the attraction, for me is that for a time I lived quite closely to the area Opal lived in during the time she kept her diary. It made the magic even more enchanting to me.

ferretchucker 06-29-2009 10:24 AM

Dracula. I've yet to read IT.

She sounds like an interesting individual.

Papillon Noir 06-29-2009 10:44 AM

IT

what a great book! I read this in middle school and it really opened my eyes to horror. Also, one of the longest I've ever read, but great character and story development. One of King's best.

I didn't mind the movie. But then, I haven't read the book, so it could (and as is the case usually) most likely is, a lot worse.

Dracula.
I read that book wayy too young to thoroughly understand it, but I fall in love more with each read. My only copy of it actually is the copy I read back when I was 11. When I was in grade 8 my elementary school had a day where they were giving away old, torn up books from the library so I snatched it up so it wouldn't go in the trash. (I was the single reason the book was so worn out by then anyway.)

alkytrio666 06-29-2009 03:45 PM

Dracula. The grandaddy of literature, period.
