Otherwise, people are going to watch the films, and say, "meh- those were boring" or sucked or whatever. And then they dismiss the list out of hand and their original opinion remains unchanged.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I had to pick films that I had seen (which narrowed the field somewhat). I didn't think I could just guess whether they were good judging from what other people said.

250 is a lot (for any decade, not just the 2000s).

2001 Maniacs (2005)
Bug (2006)
Freddy vs. Jason (2003)
Friday the 13th (2009)
Halloween (2007)
Halloween II (2009)
Jason X (2001)
Jeepers Creepers (2001)
Jeepers Creepers 2 (2003)
Saw II (2005)
Saw III (2006)
The Midnight Meat Train (2008)
The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (2003)
Thir13en Ghosts (2001)
Alien vs. Predator (2004)
Cube 2 : Hypercube (2002)
Zombies of Mass Destruction (2009)

That's a good list NE, regarding your particular point. I don't disagree except for Freddy Vs Jason (come on...it's great fun! Loved to see both the legend sharing the same screen) and the film that brought me here & drag me into the genre...TCM remake! I always has a soft corner for it. :)

I don't want to argue further but I disagree on this note.

IMO: Actually that works for any good or bad list. There's no list of films that I think can 100% satisfy every movie viewers cause of different tastes & point of views.

Yeah, it might have worked better in a tournament-like format. It would have taken a lot longer though.

I don't think so...the end result would be the same unless the nominees being limited/voters options being restricted.

I guess you're right. I could almost see myself doing that though.

"Halloween 2? Blair Witch 2? Hell no.Not even going to bring them up as a possibility.":D

I agree with Wicker that 250 is a lot. A list of 100 would be stronger, IMO.

That would defeat the whole purpose of this project, which started out with the sole aim to give the grieving fans TWICE as many reasons as any other Top 100 compilation that modern horror of the 00s hasn't gone down, or as they like to say "modern horror sux".

And you listed 17 films, out of 250, which is a very acceptable percentage. (233 films are good enough?! Weehaw!) I am willing to accept it. There will always be a horror fan out there who might like those 17 too. I am sure all involved will agree with me on this one.

And of course the compilation is open to debate and improvement (that's what makes it flexible). I am sure with time and constant inputs from everyone, some of the weaker entries will get weeded out and replaced with stronger recs. That would make it a more complete list.

Ok I'm gonna play devil's advocate and risk a flaming. I have truly adored all the lists on here-except this one. I 100% agree with neverending. I think the people that voted for shitty remakes should be ashamed of themselves. Congratulations you have undermined the crdibility of this list-people will see them on this list and conclude that "modern horror does indeed suck" thereby backfiring the original intentions of this. I'm sorry if this sounds harsh but people will see remakes on this list and think that bona fide modern classics like "Dagon", "Session 9", "Shutter" etc are in the same league! I understand that a lot of work has gone into this list sadly it all seems for nothing.
