On the other hand I can name almost every monster without much thought. They weren't characters as much as they were placeholders in my opinion. Like the heroes in most pulp fiction stories. They exist so we can live through them. Something to make events unfold from a more understandable perspective. The kid, The mother or mother figure, The father or father figure and lastly the scientists / military to represent the government. Again, this is just my perspective. I am sure that others may have favorite human characters, but none of them ever mattered to me as anything more then me putting myself in their shoes.

I'm referring to the original where there were four important human characters. Not the silly, but entertaining, sequels with strange plots and monster battles. Since this movie is basing itself off the original and not the kiddish ones it stands to reason to have some important human characters. I for one don't want to see a movie that's just Godzilla stomping around. Like I said though. I do hope the movie is about Godzilla and not the humans.

Nor would I. As I said humans are important to present the film from an understandable perspective. So I'm happy we agree. It took cinema until the Avengers to finally get the Hulk right. Maybe this will be Americas chance to get Godzilla right, but if they do then I damn well want to finally see a sequel that is Godzilla VS something other then mankind. Like Godzilla VS Prostate Cancer... Best movie ever.
