The 100 Candles Game 7/10
An alright horror anthology. |
DOLORES CLAIBORNE (1995). Although it's a little too long, this is an excellent film based on Stephen King's good albeit difficult to read book (The whole book is a hardscrabble Maine woman's recollections). Kathy Bates is stupendous here with great support by Christopher Plummer and Judy Parfitt. ****1/2

Capture Kill Release was a fun ride. Belancing between horror, found footage and dark comedy. Thus a bit in the style of things like Sightseers and few other titles I'm trying to remember (Heathers, maybe? I don't know.)
I also liked how they developed the characters. How Jen got more and more out of control (if she was not already) and Farhang trying to step on the brakes, either failing to realise that it's to no avail or refusing to do so. I would not put the acting on the level to make it a genuine four star film, but I did like it. A fun saturday flick. |
Escape: Puzzle of Fear 3/10
Retarded. |
Palm Springs (2020) (Hulu original exclusive)
9/10 A comedy, romance, mystery film, starring Andy Samberg and Cristin Milioti. Well-written and entertaining take on an interesting theme. I'm glad I knew nothing about the film before seeing it, so I had no idea what was going to happen next -- one of the things I want most in a film. I highly recommend you don't see/read anything about it before watching it. And notice I'm not saying anything regarding what it's about. |
Scare Me 5/10
Show, don’t tell. This movies theme is the exact opposite. I have a feeling Aya Cash will be typecast as annoying for the rest of her acting career. |
