I'm hoping cooler heads will prevail and this doesn't get done. But it does make a crazy sort of sense, in a way, since if you watch Jason Goes To Hell: The Final Friday, Steven finds the Book Of The Dead in the Voorhees house. It's still a stupid idea, though.
|
It's not getting made, and the things like the book of the dead being in the voorhees house, that's just the director's way of tipping his hat to sam raimi

I heard from someone Ash commented that he'd never do this film. I agree even if that isn't the case. I don't understand why Myers wasn't considered for this? Fill me in if you know something different.
|
You mean Bruce Campbell...maybe?
Yeah, why WASN'T Myers considered for this film?!? - And while we're here, can anybody tell me why they don't sell Big Macs at Burger King?!? |

I've been to BK 2 times in my life, both times I had a Wopper Meal, and both times I was off work for 1 week with very bad stomach and gut problems and the shits. I will never go to BK ever again. |

If it doesn't, it SHOULD...
You'll figure it out one day, I'm sure. |
Well since I'm new here I thought I'd add my two cents on this.
From what I've read, Raimi won't sell the rights unless it's a great script... But if he did sell the rights he wouldn't be working on the movie .. That would make it bomb. What I read said that Ash would be brought in by a team of people trying to get rid of Jason and Freddy.. He would be the undead hunter for hire that came in to get rid of them. I don't think he would get his ass kicked... I mean really he took on a whole army of undead before. :p It would have to be written really well and perhaps the character added to to make him stronger.. But .. Ash is a legend, he's got his followers, he doesn't need to be made popular and trendy. The downfall to this, and it has already been said, suddenly there would be an influx of fucktards who are all "OMG ROXXER ASH IS THE LEET KICK ASS MOTHER FUCKER. OMGWTFBBQ! ASH RULEZ HE IS SO COOL"..... And these would all be people prior to this who have never heard of ED or AoD and would just be jumping on the band wagon .. I like Ash the way he is. Those of us who know who he is do not need fuckoff teeny boppers just suddenly liking him, and mas market t-shirts and shit ... |
OMG, This is an old Thread!!

I vote "no".

is there ever going to be any REAL news about this?
|
Breaking news:
FvsJ 2 won't just be Freddy and Jason. But they won't be joined by Ash. Instead, they will be joined by 2 (yes, two!) OTHER characters from the Evil Dead franchise. The two show-stealing Evil Dead 1 characters. That's right, the 2 hillbillies on the side of the road that waved to the car as it drove by! The Rosencrantz and Guildenstern of horror are set to have a much larger role in this than they did in Evil Dead. |

Read Here, Sam Raimi said there will not be a Freddy Vs Jason Vs Ash. This is from the above website: "Brutal- just brutal... In regards to Freddy vs Jason vs Ash, does Sam Raimi, who claims, "I have great respect for those franchises," really respect them? Even if he does, what about the fans? It seems that Raimi is the reason for this long delayed 'Freddy vs Jason vs Ash' announcement- and now it looks like the idea may be doomed. Read on for the scoop, Latino Review broke the sad news today: Sam Raimi and producing partner Robert Tapert kyboshed those rumors about a proposed Freddy Vs. Jason Vs. Ash movie, saying clearly, "That won't happen." Raimi elaborated on why he didn't feel it appropriate to bring Ash into the battle royale. "I have great respect for those franchises," Raimi said. "I didn't want to be in a position where I was protecting Ash, the character that I want to eventually make another movie with one day, protecting him and not allowing the director to do what he felt he had to do. I didn't want to be in a weird position like that. I have a great deal or respect for Sean Cunningham. I think he's a brilliant filmmaker. He made some classics. I just didn't think it was a winning great situation for anybody." That said, Raimi could still speculate on the winner of the proposed fight. "I don't know, can you kill Freddy or Jason? I think Bruce Campbell woulda' kicked their asses. First I think they would have had their way with him in probably 80 minutes of punishing him which I would have enjoyed." There were early talks on the project but Variety published a report that the film was a done deal before Raimi and Tapert were ready. Pushed to decide, Raimi did not feel confident enough to lend his character. "I wanted to give the fans what they want with that. It's hard to know what the fans want with that, if that was the proper treatment. I just don't know. I don't think so. As fun as that sounded, I think they're in two different worlds, the Evil Dead and Jason/Freddy. Maybe another time, that would be a better combination" |
