It'd be a good idea to have a best episode of a Horror show topic, someday.

You say that as if it can't be done in like 2 seconds.

Jigsaw Killer 08-01-2015 03:16 PM

I think I might set it up later.

Jigsaw Killer 08-04-2015 05:14 AM

Finished up with all three seasons of Monsters. IMO the best episode of each season:

1 - The Match Game
2 - Reaper
3 - The Hole

What happens in The Hole?

Jigsaw Killer 08-04-2015 02:34 PM

It concerns three soldiers in the Vietnam War who get lost in a series of underground tunnels crawling with zombies.

Oh ok. Ty.

Jigsaw Killer 08-09-2015 07:22 PM

Not sure if you ever watched Monsters back then but it's a very good anthology series and I'd rate it among the best. It has some not-so-good episodes but there are many truly good ones in all three seasons.

SickSickPhil 08-09-2015 08:10 PM

Friday The 13th - 6th but 4 is a close 2nd

Halloween - first one is the best by far

A Nightmare On Elm Street - first but 3rd is a VERY close 2nd

Saw - 2nd but I am not a big fan of any of them

Scream - 1st but 4th was darn good

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre - first by far but the remake was really good too

Alien - first

Predator - only saw the first so i'll go with that

Phantasm - First

Evil Dead - first

Hellraiser first

Child's Play - bride of chucky but the most recent one was the best of the "horror" child'd play

Final Destination - first but 2 was almost as good. After 2 though I think they really went down hill

Jigsaw Killer 08-10-2015 01:50 PM

Predator 2 is definitely worth seeing if you liked the first.

Jigsaw Killer 08-13-2015 01:32 PM

Fear Itself is a series I'll be going through soon. I haven't seen them since they first aired back in 2008 on NBC. I remember it being a very hit and miss show with some good episodes among some truly awful ones. Only ones I remember particularly well are Eater and Skin And Bones, and remember both being good.

Roiffalo 08-13-2015 02:22 PM

Seriously, Jigsaw, you want help making a 'best episode in a show' topic?

Jigsaw Killer 08-13-2015 04:49 PM

No, I can set it up later. Just thought for now it might be best to have a best episode sub-category in this topic.

Jigsaw Killer 08-22-2015 09:19 PM

I think I may have mentioned the Ghoulies films before here (too lazy to see if I did). Been years since I watched them, remember them being goofy fun. I quite liked them as a kid. How they'd hold up now, who knows.

Finished with this just the other day and it's better than I remembered. Either Eater or Something With Bite was my favorite.

Jigsaw Killer 09-14-2015 03:41 PM

Pirahna's another, seen the 2010 remake and parts of the original. Not sure how many movies are even in the series?

Elijah23256 09-14-2015 03:57 PM

Friday the 13th- Part 3

Nightmare on Elm st.- Wes Craven's New Nightmare

for all the others its the first movies of the series that are the best

Jigsaw Killer 09-14-2015 08:56 PM

Good to meet another who likes New Nightmare the best. Always felt it was the finest of the series and it's high point.

Jigsaw Killer 09-16-2015 05:18 PM

I may have mentioned the 1983 anthology film Nightmares before. It's been years since I watched it but remember The Bishop Of Battle being my favorite segment. Look forward to Scream Factory's new Blu-ray of it coming this December.

Jigsaw Killer 09-23-2015 02:54 PM

Can't remember if I mentioned the Ringu/Ring films before here or if someone else did. I've yet to see them.

Repo'd 09-23-2015 03:43 PM

I've only seen the original Ringu and the sequel. The original is far superior, as they often are, but the follow up is worthwhile. Pretty solid twosome. No idea about any of the ones that came after.

Jigsaw Killer 09-24-2015 10:58 AM

Everyone I know of seems to regard the original being far superior to the remake.

I thought the remake was much better. Better camera work/shots/cinematography, better locations, better acting, etc etc.

I saw the American remake and didn't feel strongly about it either way. Once I've seen the original, it always seems to take the edge of the remakes for me. Particularly remakes that come out fairly close to the original.

Jigsaw Killer 09-24-2015 05:35 PM

That's one thing every remake and even sequel always has against it, they never have the freshness of the original no matter how good they turn out. The original is the original that sets everything up and thus feels the most innovative.

The Thing?

Jigsaw Killer 09-25-2015 11:04 AM

The Thing would be a rare exception given how different The Thing in both versions is.

Jigsaw Killer 09-28-2015 01:59 PM

Some may argue it's not really Horror, but The Crow is another I remembered. I've seen only the original which is excellent. I think it counts as Horror, definitely.

Jigsaw Killer 10-06-2015 02:37 PM

With anthologies I remembered the two Trilogy Of Terror films. Never saw the first but I saw the second years ago on either the USA network or Sci-Fi channel. It was pretty good from my memory and all three of the stories were entertaining. I'd like to see it again.

Care2104 10-08-2015 06:10 PM

That's a good list, I have seen almost all of the film

Jigsaw Killer 10-09-2015 03:48 PM

Which have you seen?

Jigsaw Killer 10-29-2015 12:28 PM

With Halloween so close, thought I'd bring this back.

Yes, I'd be interested in seeing revised rankings of Paranormal Activity.

Jigsaw Killer 10-29-2015 04:28 PM

I actually saw the new one. It was okay but the series has definitely overstayed it's welcome.

Jigsaw Killer 11-06-2015 05:15 PM

The new Amityville out next year reminds me how behind I am with that series. I've seen original, remake, It's About Time and recall seeing parts of the second as well as the Dollhouse one. Most of them don't seem connected though with the house being the only connective aspect at all.

Jigsaw Killer 11-12-2015 10:22 PM

Can't remember if I mentioned Warlock before, I probably did but am too lazy to look. Always enjoyed the first two movies and never bothered with the third since Julian Sands unfortunately didn't reprise the title villain. Still hope we can get a proper third film with him back, I always found the Warlock one of the more underrated and overlooked Horror villains and an icon in his own right.

I've always enjoyed the first two Warlock movies despite how silly they are. Julian Sands will forever be the Warlock to me even though i've seen him in many other things

Jigsaw Killer 11-27-2015 06:40 PM

He's a terrific actor and always enjoyable. The Warlock is iconic in his own right and it's a shame a proper third film with Sands never got made.
