I've got nothing against explotation movies. I just don't see the genre go that well together with Horror movies on a top list. Of course, some horror movies ARE exploitation, but the ones that aren't will ruin this list for me.

You know what, if five people here think a certain exploitation movie is in the horror genre as well maybe it should be considered. I'm sorry it wouldn't mesh with your opinion but sometimes you just have to not be a pompous ass and open your mind a little bit. For fuck's sake man, it's a community project, it's not one lone voice being heard.

Being disagreed with doesn't set well with you does it? Don't be a baby, your input would be so valuable on this list but instead of submitting, discussing, and voting you're presuming that a lot of non-horror flicks will be included with this list. Not all exploitation is horror but a lot of it is, and maybe youre definition of horror doesn't include alot of that but it should be up for discussion as to what exploitation films can fit into the horror genre. If you can't see that, then you're blind to open discussion anyway.

hmmm.....This is going well.

i thought the name of this forum was Horror Dot Com

yet exploitation is discussed as much as horror if not more at times

violent action films
martial arts films
revenge films

i've been on at least 5 major 'Horror' forums and have found that exploitation flicks were very muched discussed on every single one of them because the overlap in theme, atmosphere, and interest. It is undeniably entwined with 'pure horror' around our film sensibilities.

and nothing reflects this more than the asian market.

realistically .... with 'pure horror' - pure asian horror - even a top 50 would be pushing it ... the last 25 would be mediochre at best.

this is to be a list of films we use to recommend to each other - it might as well include all the films that horror fans would appreciate.

If somebody doesn't want to take part because they can't be open to the ideas of the forum then it's unfortunate but won't kill the project.

I think it's bullshit that we're adding exploitation movies to the horror list just because we haven't watched enough good asian horror movies to fill out a top 100.

Instead why not just settle with an asian horror top 50 compilation?

Or wait half a year with this list and let some of us asian horror nuts look for more good titles to add. I mean, what's the hurry?

We can always make a HDC Asian exploitation top 20/30/40whatever compilation.

Actually, I think Angra brings up a really good point. Obviously most people here don't watch as much Asian horror to come up with 100 movies, so I think narrowing it down to only 50 is a good idea instead of trying to include it with exploitation.

I also think maybe doing a separate exploitation would be a good idea, I could probably come up with more exploitation than horror for asia. Plus this would be better than trying to force them together. Not everyone who is looking at a horror list may want to see a bunch of exploitation there and vice versa.

Nobody even knows the suggestions yet! We're jumping to conclusions...

Why don't we see which films are suggested and go from there, if we object then we object, but CHILL OUT.

Maybe we should skip asian horror then and just do an exploitation only or perhaps expansion asian horror to foreign horror (which you could break out by region if you wanted to) or something? I still think that trying to smoosh horror and exploitation together is just going to taint the list though.
