Question for anyone that knows....

Is Heavy Metal 2000 a re-release of Heavy Metal or is it different stories?

No its not a remake or re-release. Its a different plot-line entirely. The 2000 flick is an anime version which has only the glowing orb, Loc-Nar, common with the first one. Also, the 2000 one is 1 story, not a group of stories. It sucked IMHO (including the heavy metal music in it).

This 1981 original flick was WAY better than the 2000 version.

Never had any interest in seeing Heavy Metal, and the birthday party scene in Signs scared the crap out of me, so Signs has my vote.
