I also watched "The Damned Thing". I liked Tobe Hooper's cinematic direction. It had an edgy mystery that had a great opening and ending. Sean Patrick Flannery did a campy characterzation as sherriff Kevin Reddle. I think he did a perfect job of assuming and creating the character to go with the tale.

Solid first episode. Better than all four of the first season episodes I've seen.

Did anyone catch "Family" tonight? I learned several things:

1. Meredith Monroe didn't talk and act like that on Dawson's Creek! :eek: ;)
2. George Wendt has eaten well since Cheers. :D
3. For some reason, the "perfect neighborhood" reminded me of of the X-Files episode where Mulder and Scully go undercover as husband and wife
4. Masters of Horror appears to be moving into a "less comedy, more horror" mode, and I like it. Keep that shit up! EDIT: I know, I know, it's Landis and some comedy has to be in there or it wouldn't be him, but if Landis is making something this dark, it's gotta mean good things for this series.

As for "Family", I thought it would have been upper tier if placed in among last season's episodes. I'd give it probably a 7/10, and I liked the ending. I "sort of" called it, or at least I caught myself thinking it, before it actually happened.

Family

yes, a bit predictable, but good, dark fun. The humor allows the episode to really explore some wonderfully wicked material. Good show, the season is staring off on two solid feet.

Can't wait to see what Stuart Gordon does withPoe's "The Black Cat."

Same here. I'm a big fan of Poe, Lovecraft, and Bierce, so Masters of Horror is keeping me happy as far as that goes.

I'll be watching this tonight. :) Hope it's better then the last installment as far as an ending goes.

I do not get showtime so I have to wait for the dvds, so far I have 11 of the 13 from season 1. I am very pleased with this seris and I hope they continue to make them. I just finished watching Dance of the Dead, which makes you actually stop to think because it is a "Political" story, which does have a ending you can see coming from 25miles ahead. I also just finished Pick me up I thought it was a great story as well except the ending I think took it over a bit, but it was unpredicitable, and something new I didn't see that coming at all.

Family

Much better this time, thoroughly enjoyed it. I had heard somewhere that it was very predictable, so the entire time I was trying to guess what would happen next. I didn't see THAT twist coming, but I know I should have! Makes it all the more better.

Cant find Pick Me Up ANYWHERE around here...ordered it from CD Plus though, hopefully it'll be in soon.
