The atmosphere and most of all the floating vampires. I´ve never seen more scary looking vampires than those in Salems lot. It´s the eyes, i think. Creepy.

And i like the long build up before the scare starts. Makes it more frightening i think. There was actually a lot of scares that worked for Tobe Hooper in this movie. At least I thought so.:)

... well if you are looking for hardcore horror it's shit.

But for PG-13 style popcorn horror it's as good as any of other teen horror movies like that. I think you have to judge things on what they are meant to be, this is cheesey teen fun and not a hardcore gore fest.

... theres a place for everything, if you ONLY watch hardcore horror and never any popcorn then The Locals will be a piece of shit, no question about it. If sometimes you just want to rent something cheesey with maybe some peeps who are not into rape revenge, gore and supreme violence then its a perfectly adequate time killer.

Just my opinion though everyone has to actually view things for themselves to decide.

Another thai martial art movie.


The story describtion on the back of the cover says everything about the translation in this movie wich might be the worst i´ve seen so far. Here goes:

"Kanomtom was born from Kerd and Eee at Kum, has sister name Aei their family got kill since was young, then he stay with mong name Kong at the Pekka temple. Kanomtom learn Muay Thai from silent person and fought with Burma until he got caught after that King Mangra of Burma made the competition of fighting between thai people and Burma people.
Kanomtom is one of Thai people that fight and if he win, he could ask anything from King Mangra. Kanomtom fight with Burma 9 people and he won after that he request to release Thai people to be free. King Mangra have to release Thai people because he has said then Thai people free, after that King Mangra said that "Thai people are so dangerouse, they could use even bare hand to fight with a people".

Imdb folks seem to think it sucks but I think I'll get it anyway.

Halloween 4. The more Michael-Myers Halloween sequels I see, the more convinced I am that they're all utter garbage...

I tried to watch part 5 a while ago but stopped in the middle because it was so damn boring...

Last movie I've seen was Summer of Sam, last night. It was pretty decent, Spike Lee is a good director....

Arse - Halloween 4 is by far the best sequel to the original.

Unpredictable, scary, and without the post-modern shit references that ruined the recent instalments.

i watched The Grudge (Unrated Director's Cut) last night,
i just got it jesterday from Columbia House... i seen the
(PG-13) version at the theatre with my mom, this movie
is some pretty creppy stuff... especially the scene where
the eyes popup at the monitor screen, very scary!

One of the better ones, right?;)

It was OK...didnt much care for Oldman as the Count, but otherwise the cast was great. Too romanticised for me though.
