The Tunnel 2011

In South Wales, Australia a news team goes into the abandoned underground tunnels below South Wales in search of a story.

Its a horror flic. Very well done for the $36,000. You can also tell what they were unable to do because they did not raise the 135k they wanted. Its is entertaining and well acted. One small, repeated, part of the film hurts the suspension of disbelief, but not enough to ruin the film. The main thing for me about the film is the potential that could have been reached, but as I said they did not raise enough money. Its worth watching at least once.

If I'm not mistaken I think horcrux speaks well of this film also. I really should check it out.

Yeah, it's one of the better found footage movies.

[QUOTE=Baron Von Marlon;994180]Escape From New York (1981)
Another John Carpenter movie with Kurt Russell so you know it's good.

Escape From L.A. (1996)
Even with the outdated special effects, it's awesome in many ways.

Yup, I liked them both!! ::cool::

The Rig -

I wasn't going to post a review for a while unless the movie was better than the average horror movie. But The Rig is so bad and should be avoided at all costs that I just had to post so if anyone considered watching it they should know before hand.

The movie is obviously inspired by far better horror movies like The Thing, Alien, etc. The Rig company is even named after the company in Alien. So I decided to watch it. People trapped on an oil rig in the middle of a storm. They can't leave till the storm is over and a monster is hunting them. Sounds like a good premise. Many shots are setup like The Thing. But everything else is so far from that classic horror movie. Around the second or third death I actually laughed. It's just so cheesy.

There is a review by "Harry Barracuda" on IMDB that sums it up perfectly. "This movie should give hope to all aspiring film makers...If someone can take a script this bad and a cast so poor and still persuade people to hand their money over to it, then, if you're an aspiring movie maker, you should be ecstatic."

The movie is horrible.

Gears-of-Warren 05-02-2015 04:37 PM

Nu 1 about human's misuse of technology and revenge of technology. This important movie for genre to keep things strong and violent, gory too.

TheBossInTheWall 05-02-2015 05:22 PM

Hor taew tak aka Haunting Me
Taew, Cartoon, Mot-dum and Songkram are four aging-yet-still-outrageous katoey (drag queens) who run a boarding house for boys in provincial Thailand. After helping to cover up the mysterious deaths of two local teens (obese ladyboy "Pancake" and a beautiful local girl named Num-Ning), the two spirits begin haunting the dormitory, forcing the "girls" to try all sorts of crazy schemes to get rid of the ghosts.

Dull. Not funny. They were acting like they were acting if you can understand what I mean. Nothing sincere in this either. The non-ghost drag queen was sort of alright, shrug. Pass on this one. 2/10

Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015)

http://i346.photobucket.com/albums/p...pssdx5l5o8.jpg

For any comic book/super hero movie lover it's somewhat like another DARK KNIGHT RISES(!)...there were rush & too many things going around but you're still going to love it as it packed with your favorite characters & plenty of awesome, eye catching action sequences as well as good dose of humor. Considering superbly well balanced storyline & characters of its predecessor "THE AVENGERS (2012)" which is one of the best superhero films ever made, AGE OF ULTRON is a fairly decent sequel, IMO. James Spader nailed his part as Ultron but still I think the super siblings, Ultron and even to some extent the "surprise" addition to the team 'The Vision' needed some more time to develop finely or may be it'd be better if they gradually introduced & developed this characters through some earlier other Marvel films like Loki for The Avengers (2012)...the audience already more or less knew about him through THOR (2011) and easily get cope with his motivations & schemes. And not only Loki, there weren't actually any new or fresh characters in 2012 Avengers Assembles who needed some time & space in character development area but this time there were one too many of them. Moreover, the plot was way simpler & more entertaining in first outing of the Avengers. Anyway, overall it won't be fair to say I'm disappointed with AOU but yeah...definitely could have been better.

Fantastic review, couldn't have said it better myself, thank you. As a Blacklist fan I was ECSTATIC to hear James Spader was going to voice Ultron. And he delivered as beautifully as I knew he would. I highly enjoyed his performance to the point that I was almost rooting for him.

Only thing I have to add is as a Bruce/Hulk fan, I was disappointed with where his character went. Not against him being in a relationship, but the beauty of the first movie was that Bruce wasn't the mopey kill joy his character tends to be in Hulk films. Then they went and brought that back in AOU by giving him a love interest and then getting in his head and making him Hulk out (which was done VERY quick and wasn't even explained what she showed Bruce as apposed to everyone else. Did the writers just have a brain fart on that?). If I wanted to see Bruce mope and run away from his problems, I would've stuck in the Incredible Hulk (2008).

Saw "Unfriended" last night. Meh. I could have waited for it to be on cable.

Seeing "The Avengers: The Age of Ultron" today. So excited!

This was a very slow burn; psychological horror. Awesome cinematography even thought basically shot in a small cellar. The two leads did well and of coarse so did Henry Rollins, even though he's not on screen his sinister voice through a telephone line gave me chills.

Had to use this poster cause it's allbaddass. Loved this! I felt all comfy cozy watching, reminded me of old slasher films, you have the babysitter, the shower scene, a party were everyone is getting high/drunk. The alcoholic Detective and well, you understand. : )

It has James Duval so my guess is at least worth it a little bit. Since he's in it i'm now going to watch.

GHOSTWATCH 1992

A television crew try their best to document supernatural events in the most infamous haunted house in Britain. Things get messy for the crew, on site and back at the station and even for the viewers watching!

DNA (1997)
My girlfriend enjoys one of my passions of watching terrible monster movies, so we browsed Netflix for ones to add to our watch list and this was one of them.

(Have some commentary as I watch it)
'Hello, I'm your obvious villain for this shitfest.' We both swear they stole a scene from Jurassic Park. And Romancing the Stone. More Jurassic Park. At least the woman in this wasn't useless. Oh my God they're Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom now. Spoiler alert. They recreated Alien. Horror movie rule #7: Mock God, and you will be smited. Nerdy guy and black guy, they're tooooootally gonna make it to the end of the movie. Stupid Alien-wanna-be, eat the damn kid and shut him up. Honestly how does something that keeps giving away it's position still making it out alive?! And there goes the nerd. Another Jurassic Park scene HAVE YOU NO SHAME, MOVIE. Ugh for a JP rip-off not near enough people are getting ate. Mostly bad guys and henchtards being a threat. Aaaaaand there goes the black guy. That's racist, movie. Your evil knows no limit. Oh oh oh, the black guy still lives! But they're using him as bait. Now he's getting mauled. And thanks to the not-so-useless-female he'll live to see another scene. Don't fucking swear in front of the kid, man. Woah they sure abandoned black guy pretty quick... okay NOW I'm sure he's dead. Unless he could survive an explosion. Wait... wasn't there an alien monster thing they should be worried about? ...Helicopter with missiles taught to aim by storm troopers works too. And they stole the t-rex eye sight thing. Obvious attempt for romance scene is obvious. Some really bad CGI. Think we're coming up on the end of this crap now... OMFG THERE'S STILL A 4TH OF THE MOVIE LEFT HOW. Movie, explain how the damn thing can turn invisible. And why the kid would go off by himself to get mauled. 17 minutes left uugghhhh "Maybe there will be 15 minutes of credits" Thanks, babe, my hopes have been renewed. This CGI is so painful to watch. They didn't even NEED to CGI climbing on a damn rock! Oh thank God it's dead. That means the movie is over right? RIGHT? Please be 7 minutes of credits. Don't you even think of forcing romance into this crap, movie. You haven't had ANY character development for tha- godfuckingdammit. Why was this rated R? No boobs, no good blood or violence, JUST. WHY.

TL;DR - The only thing I recommend is the Pop*Secret popcorn I ate during this boring piece of poser crap. I rate this movie 'U' for UNWATCHABLE.

Gears-of-Warren 05-05-2015 09:39 AM

Today I watched nu one that fantasy horror and have good-look monsters though small budget. Much more better than other nu movies like Lost River.

TheBossInTheWall 05-05-2015 12:13 PM

Dead Sea

A Marine Biologist is assigned to investigate the mysterious deaths of marine life in an inland salt water lake that have been attributed to a creature thought to have been the stuff of legend.

Awful. James Duvall is in it for about 3 minutes. Bad acting, bad dialogue. Half the film is back story on uninteresting characters. I watched about half of the film. I did not see the monster once. I tried skimming the rest for the monster, could not find it. Most likely its on screen for a very short time. The only good part of the film was the camera shooting and location choices.
