Hard Candy

Wow. Just wow. I fucking loved it. It gave me a grim satisfaction to see that pedo get what was coming to him. Although I found some of the interactions between the two to be somewhat unrealistic, and some of the girl's dialogue was a little on the cheesy side, this was still quite a good movie. Very much recommended, especially if you have a vendetta against pedophiles.

Hitch

Why was this movie 2 hours long? Or at least it seemed like it. Pretty boring, mildly funny, decently acted anti-romantic comedy. Lots of recognizable faces in this movie, but that couldn't help the sappy script.

D+

My wife, Alana gives it a D-. She says she laughed twice.

I personally don't like most of what Smith has done...his sense of humour...which they/he clones into pretty much every one of his typecast roles...just makes him come off as an arrogant, annoying son of a bitch. That, and I think he looks kinda like a weird asian with a skin disorder, that tends to get to me.
(Aside from the bad boys series, which I actually think suited him pretty well, I liked those...more likely because it was Lawrence acting the over the top bigmouth for those, and not him)
But Hitch? Boring, completely unfunny to me...yes, it dragged on and on and on and on, and I have to say that if I'd actually went to this at the movies, I would've walked out within the first half hour. Whoever wrote this shit ought to consider making documentaries about advanced business studies...the humour level would be just about right there.

The Leopard Man (1943)

Jacques Tourneur is one of my favorite directors. He's brilliant, and his geniousness shines in this film. Like Cat People, and most other films Val Lewton produced, this flick has got atmosphere that makes anything modern feel boring. Excellent movie, I can't say enough about it.

If you don't have the Val Lewton boxset, get it.
