I'm getting ready to watch Monty Python's 'Life Of Brian' (I think that's what it's called)...Dustin wants me to watch it with him...But, I gotta cook first...So, I'll be back later...

Paparazzi.....you know I wanted to like it, because I kind of dig the "actor going nuts and taking out the photographers" plot. But it was just okay, and that is being kind....*sighs* Too bad it wasn't more violent.

Mayhem

ChEEbA 08-21-2005 12:22 AM

Saw Kung-Fu Hustle on the big screen.
I'd seen it a few months back on a sub-standard dvd...but I knew that if it EVER came out on the bigscreen here I'd have to check it out. So, I got my ticket paid for too. Sweet fucking deal.

What can you say about it...? At no point does this film even ATTEMPT any kind of realism, pure martial arts phantasy mayhem...its nuts...yet the movie manages to take you into this world, and it's thoroughly enjoyable. It actually has a pretty decent storyline, and some very likeable characters...starts out a little slow, but all the same...I love the scenery, the sets, the music...and it's one of the funnier asian films I'd seen in years.
Badass fight scenes. VERY interesting visual effects, sometimes subtle (the cat:D), sometimes completely over the top.
Feels kind of like a cartoon, but on another level.

I've thought this for a while...if they DO make te rumoured DragonBall movie, they gotta get this guy to direct it.

Id reccomend seeing this to anyone. For those of you tht cant stand subtitles, check out the dvd, I'm sure there'll be a dubbed edition before too long.
For fans of THIS film - you NEED to check out Shaolin Soccer, the film Stephen Chow did prior to KFH, totally different, but funny as all hell.
Here's hoping a few more of his films make the big screen...

Slumber party massacre...Still on of my favs....

alkytrio666 08-21-2005 09:30 AM

Rented teo low-budgets last night:

Madhouse (2004) and Junior (2002).

Madhouse: 10/10...this movie was incredible. The story was amazing, the acting was very good for a low-budget and the scares were very, very good. It's on my top 10 greatest horror movies ever. Really good, if anyone is interested I highly, highly recommend it.

Junior: 0/10...horrible, horrible movie. Shit acting, shit camera work, shit plot. Dont watch this movie even if it's your only chance of survival.

The_Return 08-21-2005 09:37 AM

Why bother renting? It's almost a cheap to buy:p ;)

He probably means the horror movie...Honestly, it could have been worse....It was better than Full Moon Video's 'Killjoy'...THAT was horrible...

The horror movie Junior is a 'family that slays together, stays together' type movie...Kinda like TCM, but without a chainsaw...

Don't wanna give TOO much away, in case ya wanna see it ;)

... that's cool man, I liked Mad House too...
I was very surprised it was that good, mainly because the main actor was that dude "josh" from Blair Witch....

RavageRitual 08-21-2005 06:14 PM

Demonia, I thought this film was a little better than what ive been hearing. Its nothing more though.

AUSTIN316426808 08-21-2005 09:20 PM

Four Brothers- 9.5/10

Saw a trailer for Domino.

Mickey Rourke

Keira Knightley-The girl from Pirates of the Caribbean(who for the first 2 minutes of the trailer I looked at saying ''Wow, Winona looks hot with her lips done"..lol..yeah I'm retarded.)

Looks like it's going to be good(to me anyway)

Marroe 08-21-2005 10:12 PM

I just finished The Notebook. Oh my god, I cried about 12 times. Every time I thought it was ending, something else would happen and I'd cry again:( ...Still am.

Definitely not my first viewing....I love it. It is one of my favorite science fiction films. It has its problems, it isn't a great film by any means. But the storyline is awesome and I love the whole feel of the film. I highly recommend it. But it isn't for everyone.

slasherman 08-22-2005 12:42 AM

"Happy Birthday to Me" (1981)
Directed by J. Lee Thompson..the guy who directed the orginal "Cape Fear"......

One of the best slashers ever made...much better than "Prom Night" and "Sleepaway Camp"........
...a serious slasher with good acting...up there with "Halloween"

Angra 08-22-2005 01:01 AM

"Wedding crashers"

Didnīt find it specially funny, but it surprised me to see that Vince Vaughn was actually funnier than Owen Wilson.
