No, it's definently a shark. Unless, the tail is horizontal, but it's somewhat hard to tell... looks vertical to me, just hard to see.

According to the person that took the picture, it was a shark. The caption for the picture was:
"This picture is one of amazement to me... I snapped this shot while touring the Miami Florida area. My close friend pointed this out to me while we were sun bathing in this scene where the picture was taken. AMAZINGLY the shark swam his way right past the surfer and went further out in the water. Officers were called to the scene when the shark was reported being near shore. No one was hurt "

The animal is riding the wave at a left angle, giving the tail a vertical appearance to you but to me it looks horizontal. Also the dorsal looks like it has too much of a curve to it as well as too thin at the top. I could be wrong though, I wasn't there.

Well, it does say it's a shark on the website, but, it's forever a mystery. We'll call is a Sharlin.:)
