Romero's Dead Franchise.

The Dead series has 3 great movies and a pretty good one, but Dracula has my favourite movie of all time (1931 version), at least 3-4 more great movies, and a bunch of pretty good ones.

The Dead has a legendary director, and a few actors that are only famous in horror circles and only because of the Dead movies. Dracula has a bunch of legendary directors (Browning, Fisher, Coppola, ect.) and some of the greatest actors of all time (Lugosi, Lee, Langella, Cushing, Hopkins, LAURENCE FRIGGING OLIVIER!)

The Dead series has damn good writing and a great social commentary...Dracula is loosely based on a real historical figure and the novel is still popular after more than a century!

I think the winner here is pretty damn obvious.

DRACULA

I write this whilst watching Dawn of the Dead :)

Romero's movies had a much bigger impact on me than Dracula [vampires are my least favorite creature]

DEAD it is.

though I will add that Christopher Lee was brilliant in his portrayal.

Sergio Leone/ Clint Eastwood/ Ennio Morricone!

Romero bitch!

Kane_Hodder 07-26-2007 03:07 AM

Waow what a match in the big final! This is the toughest choice of the tournament.......and my pick is Sergio Leone's brilliant sphagetti westerns.

roshiq 07-26-2007 03:08 AM

....& the EMPEROR of all movie franchises/series is

The Man With No Name Trilogy
  • A Fistful Of Dollars
  • For A Few Dollars More
  • The Good, The Bad and The Ugly

http://ec1.images-amazon.com/images/...PL._SS500_.jpg

Bub the Zombie 07-26-2007 06:35 AM

Very tough decision.......as much as I LOVE the Deads, I have to give it to Clint Eastwood's groundbreaking westerns. Night, Dawn and Day will always be awesome in my book, but Eastwood's trilogy was such a trendsetter for moviemaking AND moviewatching. Oft repeated, never bettered, ever.

Mictlantechutli 07-26-2007 07:30 AM

I'd watch any of the The DEAD movies over any of the others at any time.

ROMERO
