Ya, I didn't really get the love for Lost Boys. I thought it was more style (MTV) than substance. I've always been a Lou Gramm (Foreigner) fan, he did some songs for it.

It's kinda funny... a long time friend of mine (who's a little touched) posted a trailer of Lost Boys on youtube (he posts about 10-15 a week, which I comment on from time-to-time). I commented that I thought it was OK, but had a bit of an overrated following, and mentioned some things I thought was weak. He posted that Lost Boys was part of who he was, cussed me out, and de-friended me (which he's done to others in our circle of friends). About a year latter he apologized and were friends again.

Of course ending a friendship because your friend expressed low esteem for a film is irrational & immature; but I wondered if God was telling me I should keep more of my inconsequential opinions to myself. He's probably right. = ) But luckily we have HDC were exchanging opinions on film is the venue. But people still idolize films, music and artists, where for some they are the gods of their 'religion'. But I can't help thinking (silently) to myself there should be more important things filling that 'empty spot' besides things like The Lost Boys.

Vincent Price -- Joseph Curwen/Charles Dexter Ward (The Haunted Palace)

Pulling off two roles in one movie is something few can do well.

metternich1815 08-11-2013 11:15 PM

Unfortunately, I have not seen any of these movies, so I will be unable to participate.

The Villain 08-12-2013 03:11 AM

MichaelMyers 08-12-2013 01:32 PM

Charles Dexter Ward for the win.

Giganticface 08-12-2013 01:39 PM

Elvis! Bruce is amazing and surprisingly subtle in that role.

You definitely need to see Motel Hell. It is not a masterpiece (in fact, it is quite cheesy), but it is a horror movie that all horror movie fans should watch at least once. I find it quite entertaining. I really liked the characters, especially Farmer Vincent and his sister (hence why I voted for him). Also, the film had an influence on future horror movies (including House of 1000 Corpses).

Andre Delambre

Sculpt 08-13-2013 12:05 PM

Wow, tough choice. All those performances made the respective films work. I think the performance that was most important, and likely most difficult, was David Hedison as Andre Delambre. He added intensity, and most of the film through pantomime.

Yes, Motel Hell was bit famous in it's time. It's not a great film, but it works in it's own way. It's very tongue-in-cheek. My sister and I used to joke about it a lot.

Freak 08-13-2013 01:53 PM

Andre Delambre

LastNightOnEarth 08-13-2013 05:57 PM

I've been seriously slacking off......Andre Delambre

_____V_____ 08-13-2013 10:55 PM

Andre Delambre - 7 (The Villain, hammerfan, Chronogrl, MichaelMyers, Sculpt, Freak, LastNightOnEarth)
Vincent Smith - 2 (metternich1815, bamahorrorfan87)
Irena Gallier - 0

Andre Delambre buzzes past all opposition to the easy win.
