And I'm glad to hear he is doing well and isn't in any pain. He certainly looks content! You never know, animals can survive some amazing circumstances for much longer than we expect.

How long do you have to be in NZ? Sorry, I probably missed a detail somewhere.

Thank you! I will be in New Zealand for 3 months, more if i want, but at this point i don't think I will be extending my time there,

As I was sitting here typing I got a little worried because I heard scratching near my front door. I looked and saw my fat cat was still laying in the rocking chair asleep so I looked out the window and there was a little gray kitten sitting on my porch. Sweet looking cat but I hope my cat doesn't wake up and see it because she likes to fight with other animals through the front window. I know she'd run and hide if she were really confronted.

Thanks, I appreciate that, looks like you've got a good looking cat yourself.

I thank you all deeply for both your sympathy and your support. He was taken today to the vet to see whether he was in pain or not, luckily he is still doing well and has gained an ounce since the last visit. There is a slight chance I might see him again when I get back from NZ. Here is Buster in all his glory, i took these pics today. he sits in my lap now as I post this.

I'm glad that he's doing better (and gaining weight - what a good sign!!).

And what a beautiful little guy (orange kitties are my favorite)!! I just want to hug him. I love cats that sit in your lap. :)

Awwwwww!!

Are bichons cuddly?

monalisa 01-10-2009 07:31 AM

Yes, they love to cuddle and sit in your lap. They're cheerful, friendly little dogs that love the human(s) they own.

That's adorable.

My boyfriend grew up with bichons. He LOVES them!

ChronoGrl 01-11-2009 01:15 PM

Ripley's pretty pissed at me right now, but I can't help it! The weather has been below freezing and I'm worried about my little girl...

I'm disappointed with this one. I liked the composition and framing her in front of the window... BUT... would have come out better if I wasn't using my crappy camera phone. Unfortunately I've misplaced my digital one. :(

http://inlinethumb14.webshots.com/44...500x500Q85.jpg

And in this one she just looks pissed.

Nice pup.

Got some bad news about my cat Phantom...the young one...his "problem" recurred, a urinary tract thing. We think we got him to the vets on time, and he's currently there now, but if he needs surgery again I'm not sure I can make it happen...I mean I'm sure I *can* somehow but it'll be hard yards for a month or so.
Here's hoping this morning they say it was all good just on meds, but it's hard to be optimistic right now.

amc420vt 01-31-2009 02:23 PM

its a boy. he's boxer/pit mix.

Phalanx 01-31-2009 06:07 PM

The Phantom was alright, they got his meds to him in time before complete blockage/toxicity.

On another pet related note, I did my first bit of volunteer work at the vets today. Some blood was drawn, learned a little bit about the equipment and machinery and some info on ?pancreatitis? felt a bit of a fifth wheel there not really doing much, but hey. Went ok.

amc420vt 02-01-2009 07:53 AM

one of my cats wont eat her cat food, and is apparently eating the puppys food out of the bag, we have it now so she wont get into the bag, but she still wont eat her food, how can we get her back on track with her food. any suggestions? thanks

Phalanx 02-01-2009 01:19 PM

Yep. Lock the other food up...pretty much all that's gonna work.

We just picked up Ripley's new little sister... 10-week-old Leeloo-Dallas-Multi-Pass, or just plain Leeloo...

We went to Long Island to pick her up from the breeder (4-hour trip)... And she cuddled with me the whole time in the front seat...

LOL - Minus the scar, I can see that.

LOL - Which is pretty appropriate. Ripley has already started attacking her.

How does your other cat react to the new member of the family?

Thanks. :D

Ripley's not happy at all. :( We're gradually introducing them, but can't leave them alone together. Ripley stalks Leeloo and swats/jumps/tackles/bites her every chance she gets. Leeloo however is just the oblivious kitten who's tottering around, minding her own dopey kitten business and dealing with Ripley more as an annoyance than anything else.

Guess the transition period will take longer than anticipated (then again, I've read that it can take up to a few weeks; I just need to be patient :o ). I know this is going to sound cheesy, but it's difficult keeping either one in a separate room while playing with the other one. :(

How's your beautiful Bengal doing?

So far he's stayed in his own area. I'm observant though, if he gets feisty I kept his brandy glass bowl.
