If you would take a chill pill and read through the other official thread, you might actually realise something.

And btw, compare that to the awards of last night in THIS thread.

Disease 10-29-2007 04:02 AM

and that somehow means that this was not a waste of time?

And yes the awards were done last night by various people which is how it was meant to be....

Read what you wrote, again. By saying that you are basically slapping the people involved in this long and arduous project, especially Tic.

At least now, everything is neat and clean, and can be read easily and quickly by anyone.

And finally, see my posts. Each go with the quotes which YOU all made in the show last night.

On behalf of Disease, I apologise to each and everyone associated with this project. Please don't take his words otherwise.

Disease 10-29-2007 04:13 AM

I'm not slapping anyone, My point is rather blatant, it is being done a second time......

If you want to make an apology then don't do it on behalf of me, I speak for myself...

Actually, it isn't, __V__ is tidying it up for us, if you look at what he's done you'll see that all the quotes and posters etc are exactly how they were presented last night, but without anyone else jumping in the middle of the presentations and without all the crap

There are two ways you can look at it:

1 - it was pointless, in which case i'm sure you won't want to take part in any future project

or

2- it was a valuable learning exercise, mistakes were made and that's something we can change in future projects

Those of us that put a lot of time and effort into it prefer to learn from it :)

Disease 10-29-2007 05:24 AM

Well actually it's not all the same, the posters aren't exact the same quotes etc...

And as for the waste of time, I was here well before and waited around....

And then it is done again , if you can't see my point you are blind.

p.s, if it's the same or not, that's not the point I was getting at... I'm not here to argue or start any shit, I simply felt as though, my time had no worth all of a sudden... but it was give to V by tic to do this way and it was his project, so who am I to say anything... I'm just glad it came about and I guess a bit dissapointed with the outcome last night.

Believe me, all your efforts are well thought of and in a way I'm glad each one of you is commenting on the subject - at least some of you, now feel just as I do. I didn't suggest this to waste peoples time, it was merely a way of allowing those people who wanted to take part, a means of doing so.

It certainly has changed my view on things.

@Disease : I hope you received the PM, and don't feel your participation was un-needed. It was.

Before the awards started, and several times previously, I deliberately took the time to thank everyone for taking part and I still feel that way.

Originally, there was NO judges, it was simply a case of sending your votes - I would post them up. Job done. - but then its not my forum, even though I think I now officially own this thread  and thats why I suggested Judges, so it would be the HDC forums awards.

But like I said, it certainly has changed my view on things ......... for better or worse.

GorePhobia 10-29-2007 08:38 AM

I actually feel the same way he does to be honest. I know I was a bit late and messed some things up but if we were going to do another thread we should have did it ourselves. There are still people in the new one talking before it's over like ferret and alkytrio. We should have wrote down who was going where and then said alright this person post first, then this person, then this person, and the first post on the thread should have stated PLEASE DON'T TALK IN THE THREAD UNTILL WE FINISH POSTING ALL THE AWARDS.

Because I took the time out to get all different pictures for each nominee and stuff and now it's a waste because it was moved. The only people getting recoginiton in the new thread are V and tic and then V is saying thanks to Jenna and Styg. What about the same amount of work myself and Disease did?

Bub the Zombie 10-29-2007 08:56 AM

All of you did a great job.

Most of you senior members should know that personal recognition comes last when it is a team effort involving so many people. You might argue that it was a bad idea about suggesting to post them in a new thread, but look at it this way, at least now we don't have to wade through so many pages and intermingled, haphazard posts to find out the results.

And finally, if this entire exercise was conducted for getting your own names in the spotlight, and not for the rest of us, it sort of defeats the purpose automatically, dont cha think?

My 2 cents in.

GorePhobia 10-29-2007 08:58 AM

Well I agree Bub it shouldn't be for recognition but we should get credit where credit is due if everyone else is getting it don't you think?

Bub the Zombie 10-29-2007 09:04 AM

When you agreed to be a part of this, you automatically got full credits, mate. Everybody knows what your part was. What more did you want?

GorePhobia 10-29-2007 09:07 AM

Who knows. All I am saying is I think we should have all been informed and been able to post our awards we chose in this new thread.

Bub the Zombie 10-30-2007 02:20 AM

Just noticed that the official Awards thread is closed, and if a moderator reads this, can that wonderful thread be a sticky mate? Otherwise it might get buried among much lesser useful and countless threads.

And gorephobia, I have no idea what agreement you all had between yourselves. From what I see, it looks like severe lack of communication. For planning a ceremony between participating members, that too from different countries, a schedule is very important. But in the actual presentation, no such thing was evident. It started very smoothly, but all of a sudden everyone jumped on everyone else's posts and it became shoddy real fast. Do not take it otherwise mate, and I agree that you all put in a lot of effort, but you would have lost interest in the show yourself if you were a neutral spectator.

I am one of those who is actually glad that one person took it upon himself to re-post the entire thing by putting everything aside, and actually devoted so much time and effort to do it. That too in half a day's time.

So let us give credit where credit is due, and not stoop to ferretchucker's IQ levels by being whiny and a crybaby. You all did a wonderful job, and each one of you is lauded and appreciated by all of us, if I may speak for all HDC members.

I conclude this by asking again for the wonderful official Awards thread to be stickied for more reasons than one.

roshiq 10-30-2007 02:32 AM

Thanx to all of you for this fantastic project and it's superb results.

Disease 10-30-2007 04:51 AM

You know, this thread could have been edited by the mods just like V's was....

GorePhobia 10-30-2007 07:10 AM

i agree as well

No it couldn't, all they did was take the crap out, they can't rearrange the awards into the correct order, that has to be done manually....which is what __V__ did

GorePhobia 10-30-2007 10:25 AM

oh wells all is done and its closed and it looks good

good job v for putting it up and taking the time out for doing it and for tic for dealing with all the bs and setting it up and for jenna, styg, and disease for their help doing their awards

Bub the Zombie 10-30-2007 11:23 AM

Threads cannot be edited by moderators. The most they can do is delete entries from between posts, or merge threads into one.

The official thread should be stickied by now. I hope a moderator is reading this.

I'm not sure where you studied the word editing, but deleting posts is editing a thread.

ferretchucker 10-30-2007 01:13 PM

What a slap in the face. I presented four awards if it was not forgotten and was 2nd to judge on most of the categories. And I honestly don't see a problem in what __V__ did. He was also very involved in the whole thing and it makes it a lot easier. Especially because there arent so many pages before the awards began and he did make 99% of all comments on each awards quotes of the people that presented them.

GorePhobia 10-30-2007 01:17 PM

We have made peace ferret. It's over now.

Who got slapped?

newb 10-30-2007 03:01 PM

C'mon people....hands across the water .....and all that stuff. I think you all did a fine job. Its not easy to organize this kind of event with all the different time zones and what not.

KUDO'S TO ALL....ESPECIALLY newb

ferretchucker 10-31-2007 08:04 AM

newb thinks he is cool,
alright he is,
But he thinks he's the best
...and he is.

Shit, this poem has gone all wrong!
