My man drove to the store and bought me a 24oz. Corona Extra:)
And I am drinking it ALL myself:p
Props the old, tired men who work all day and then do something that sweet:)

Now, if only I had mentioned some popcorn;)

La Chat Noire 08-08-2008 07:06 PM

I'm having my new favorite cheap wine, Red Zepplin. Nothing beats a good wine buzz :)

Don't know why, but this just made me think of something about NC and you guys moving here.
You guys will be newbies when it comes to Southern Church People.

When confronted with these nuts, I mean people, just remember they are all bark...yes, remember your safety rules...no eye contact, no quick movements, no showing of fear and walk away as soon as the opportunity arises...don't run, that will only incite anxiety and the ONE THING you do NOT want to do is incite anxiety!

Any other tips, I'll be sure to inform you.

Celebrator Doppelbock

Anchor Steam

Optimator Spaten

Samuel Smith's Nut Brown

and Sprecher Black Bavarian.

Anyone ever had any of these?

newb 11-08-2008 08:45 PM

The Celebrator Doppelbock is excellent. Thats the only one I've had from your selection.

newb 11-08-2008 08:48 PM

cleansed my palate with a few of these tonight......they were....very good.

^ I've heard those were good. I'll have to give it a try.

Newb, you definitely need to get a hold of Delirium Tremens. I'm drinking it now and it's pretty incredible. I found it at a local liquor store without any trouble.

In a pretty small town outside of Indianapolis. I figure if I can find it here, then it shouldn't be that hard to find anywhere else.

newb 11-08-2008 09:17 PM

Just checked it out......sounds like I may like it...although its a pretty strong brew [9% abv ] ...a good sipping beer. There is one store near me that I may be able to get it. I shall give it a try next week and let you know what I think.

Yeah, it's definitely one that needs to be consumed slowly. A good sipping beer, as you said.
Definitely let me know what you think. When I finish up the rest of those, I'll let you know if there's anything else in there worth checking out.

cactus 11-08-2008 09:54 PM

The only one I've had is the Samuel Smith Nut Brown, I enjoyed it quite a bit. Like newb said about the other one, it's a good sipping beer...

Haha, exactly.
That's how I feel whenever I buy anything that's not a DVD.

"Man, I could have used that car payment to buy like ten DVDs!"

------------------------------

Newb, I'll let you know how I like the Doppelbock. I have a good feeling about it, especially after your thumbs-up.

Yum.
We have an incredible Japanese steakhouse about twenty minutes from my house. It's expensive, but definitely worth it, too.

fortunato 11-09-2008 11:58 AM

I tried that Anchor Steam last night, too, Newb.
Quite good. I'd recommend it to anyone that likes a rich amber beer with a little bite.

monster123 11-09-2008 12:09 PM

My favorite was always skyy vodka :)

ferretchucker 11-09-2008 01:55 PM

Non alcoholic beer. My dad had it in the boot of the car from a party he went to yesterday.

hacelikewhoa 11-09-2008 02:07 PM

bourbon, 151, grey goose, miller lite, absolute

La Chat Noire 11-09-2008 03:03 PM

I'm all about Guinness.

Guinness is pretty good. I was fortunate enough to have a cold pint of it in a pub just twenty kilometers or so from St. James' Gate.

I'm drinking a bottle of Spaten Optimator right now. Very good. It's really thick with a smooth, stodgy malt flavor. It's almost a meal in a bottle.

One of my dreams is to have a Guinness in Ireland someday.

focker 11-10-2008 05:53 AM

well, until you get the chance, just drink one standing on top of a red head while eating a potato while listening to the Pogues

The Photographer 11-10-2008 08:45 AM

As far as bee goes for me I rarley drink it just not much of a fan. However Jagermeister is my lifeforce I pretty much drink that every night and really dont prefer anything else to it.

My wife is very similar. She rarely drinks (i dont think she has had a thing since march), but she can pound Jaegermeister like its water. She doesnt make a face or anything, she just smiles.

When our daughter is finally in school, my kid isnt going to say "my dad could kick your dad's ass", shes going to say "my mom can kick your dad's ass" :)

urgeok2 11-10-2008 09:26 AM

i rarely drink beer ... maybe 2 - 3 a year tops (Newb just shuddered - like someone walked on his grave)

when i do have a beer ... i really enjoy a Guinness. kind of weird ... i cant drink an entire lighter beer unless i'm dying of thirst and there is a freezer cold Corona near.

i'm the same with red meat .. i hardly ever eat it - but when i do it has to be rare ... quite the opposite of people who dont like red meat
