It was the clue about the writer/director that did it for me.

Next one will be up in a little while....takes me forever to think up anything good.

- The studio had planned to make a sequel, but it fell through.

- Stars a prolific horror actor

- Lead actress also starred in the sequel to a classic horror film that was recently remade

The_Return 11-16-2006 12:19 PM

- The supporting cast features a prominent Brittish actor whose recent films include a high seas blockbuster, and a CGI children's flick.

tic 11-17-2006 06:24 AM

Paul Bettany, I'm thinking of Master & Commander (for the high seas adventure) though it could be Orlando Bloom from Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest :(

The_Return 11-17-2006 01:00 PM

On the right track, but wrong.

- Features an SNL allum in her first screen role

Roderick Usher 11-17-2006 02:00 PM

Phantom of the Opera: The Movie

The_Return 11-17-2006 05:39 PM

Eeeeexactly!

For anyone wondering, the actors mentioned in the clues were Bill Nighy and Molly Shannon, respectively.

Go for it Rod:)

Roderick Usher 11-17-2006 06:33 PM

The American distributers retitled this movie becuase they thought the original title "sounded too much like a western"

the antagonist was supposed to be played by Gert Frobe (who played Goldfinger) but was replaced by another actor who went on to become a Bond film Bad Guy

Miss Olivia 11-21-2006 11:28 AM

Horror Express?

Roderick Usher 11-21-2006 12:44 PM

Playing against type, the Hero is played by one of the all-time great movie bad guys

tic 11-22-2006 09:59 AM

Ok ... let me see.

This film is briefly seen in another horror film, the director of which, went on to direct the remake of the film in question.

If that makes sense.

Roderick Usher 11-22-2006 11:47 AM

John Carpenter's The Thing

-the kids are watching it in Halloween:)

tic 11-22-2006 11:50 AM

but of course :D

a bit too easy that one.

Roderick Usher 11-22-2006 12:02 PM

The Director of this film cut an early scene that establishes the lead as a lesbian

The film's location is now a hotel

Oddly, halfway through the film, the narration shifts from one character to another

Roderick Usher 11-25-2006 09:28 AM

it's in the HDC 100

Roderick Usher 12-07-2006 09:25 AM

you'll have to give me another clue tho, i'm too tired to have to think too hard :p :)

Roderick Usher 12-07-2006 12:44 PM

in addition to this horror film, the director made scifi, drama, war pictures and even a couple of musicals

stygianwitch 12-07-2006 01:18 PM

Roderick Usher 12-08-2006 08:17 AM

- Was directed by a very successful comic book artist

- The director also wrote for a popular late 60's-70's police drama

- A member of the supporting cast had an uncredited role in a John Ford western, with James Stewart

The_Return 12-14-2006 03:23 PM

Nobody?

I can give another clue if you want...

Roderick Usher 12-14-2006 03:38 PM

I got nothin'

The_Return 12-14-2006 05:32 PM

- One of the comic book characters created by the director of this film went on to be the inspiration for The Comedian in Alan Moore's "Watchmen"

(Im kind of scrounging for hints, if you couldnt tell:p)

Roderick Usher 12-15-2006 08:29 AM
