My partner and I have been on several pitch meeting for various writing assignments lately and we can't seem to nail one. I know we're supposed to be paying our dues, but this is fucking ridiculous. I can't seem to make ANY money.

Thank god the wife can support us, but she's getting tired of her job and I feel like an ass for making her stay there while I stay at home and watch the kids.

I'm getting really depressed.

I am just shy of being a senior level programmer, and the fact that i will contract for anywhere from $37 to $45 an hour makes me a middle of the road to cheap to employ senior level programmer, but i can't seem to get a fucking bite for a job. I have been out of work for 6 weeks now, and although I have had some good leads, i am still not working.


And to top it all off, since i was an independant contractor on my last job, i dont qualify for unemployment. So I am double screwed. Plus, Bree had a job, but that is ending soon because her boss found someone who would watch her kid for free.

All this and we are moving to Raleigh once our house sells, regardless, so we may end up in her sister's basement in VA for a while.


So i guess i would have to say i want A FUCKING JOB.


In brighter news, i will be submitting some of my short stories to a writing contest for writer's digest. Wish me luck, I could use it.

Oh, and I found a four leaf clover yesterday; If i thought it would survive the trip, I would ship it to ya, rod. I find them like dogs find fleas.
