Hello, everyone.

I didn't watch a horror movie last. In fact, it was Hunt for Red October. Predator, I think, is John McTiernan's best.

Before that, I saw Philip Kaufman's Invasion of the Body Snatchers for the first time. It was brilliant. Impressive from the story down to the characters.

It's a pity that nowadays, films of this caliber are rarely ever made anymore.

Agreed. :(

"Blade Trinity"..... too stupid.....more b-movie than 1 and 2

Splotch 08-01-2005 09:59 AM

Devil's Backbone...

What did you think of the atmosphere of the film?

You have this innocent, darling little kid staring at an enormous bomb stuck halfway into the ground in the middle of the school's quad. Plenty of shadows, just enough of the spectre to keep you rattled.

Then there's the millieu. Franco's Spain. Treachery is everywhere, no stability. Everybody's got an angle. Murder is everywhere. So amidst the survival, our little main character's been chosen by spooky-boy to set things right. Nice world, eh?

The Car (1977).

Great horn, and what is that in the flames at the end?

soo gonna watch Final Destination again tonight.....and a dvd rip of Sin City are under construction.....

EXTR3MIST 08-02-2005 08:10 AM

Some critique wouldn't go amiss!

:D

The Howling is a top wolf movie, especially the scenes in the woods during the day - something unnatural and very scary about a savage monster on the prowl in broad daylight.

Captpopular 08-02-2005 08:19 AM

Last night I caught Godzilla: Final Wars and Hellavator and tonight I'm going to see Boo and Boy Eats Girl. Way to go Munich Fantasy Film Festival!! wah hoo!

Last dvd I saw was Cradle of Fear.

**note: I may be new to this board, but I criticise the lck of a devilish smiley. That is a travesty**

EXTR3MIST 08-02-2005 08:22 AM

Some of the Cradle of Fear special effects are excellent - what about the cheek-piercing knife, and the head-blasting late in the film?

Very smooth use of CGI indeed.

Thai supernatural drama "Omen", surprisingly good considering it stars a Thai boy band!! But don't let that fact fool you, it's good, serious stuff.

A slice of tasty 80's Euro cheese in the form of "Commando Leopard". Sniff it and see.

I saw a lot of magazine ads and promos at Best Buy for it, but it just looked like another slasher.

Plus the retail was over 20 bucks, which aint flying.

A Bittersweet Life.

Dodgeball- 7/10

I can't get over how hilarious Vince Vaughn can be with just a look or certain gesture.

Definitely not worth it. Just an average slasher flick, it rips off so many other movies that did it much, much better.

Anyway, last movie watched was The Day After Tomorrow.

Yellow Jacket 08-03-2005 07:31 PM

Alexander Director's Cut

It sucked! Sure, the first hour was pretty good. But then the rest of it went all downhill. Oh, and since when was Alexander gay? You'll know wat I mean if/once you watch the flick (though you really shouldn't waste a perfectly good 3 hours over this IMO. But be my guest.)

It was never confirmed but his parents suspected he was gay because he was always with his friend(can't think of his name) and never with women so they got him hooker after hooker and even though he had sex with them it pissed him off quite a bit. Nobody knows for sure but they(historians parents, friends ect.) highly suspected and had credible reason that he was.

Vince Vaughn??

What was funny about him?

In my oppinion Stiller totally stole the picture in that movie.

If youīre a big fan of Vince you should see "The locusts" if you havenīt already. Itīs a pretty good drama.
