If they bring that aspect back, i'll check it out again but i think im pretty much done with these games.

same as me, 3 was terrible, 2 was ok, the first is still the best.

"Dead Island" PS3 8-9/10

The first half (Especially at the holiday resort) was definitely the best.

Just beat this myself. I enjoyed the prison alot more. Very fast paced and more access to guns and ammo.

That's what i hated the most at the end of the game. I got REALLY tired of dying. Coz you never got any abilities to evade those fast fuckers. And the last boss was driving me to tears.

When I had the fight the very last boss I shot him a few times then used my fury. Fury made real quick work out of him.

I forgot about my fury throughout the entire game..

Batman Arkham City, loved it.

Next up, Modern Warfare 3 or Skyrim or Saints Row 3, urgh too many to choose from.

MichaelMyers 11-21-2011 12:44 PM

Just beat Doom 3.

Freak 11-21-2011 05:26 PM

I recently beat the campaign for Modern Warfare 3. Now I'm getting close to beating it on the hardest difficulty.

Either that game is really short or you just have a lot of free time.

Freak 11-23-2011 10:13 AM

It's a little short but at the same time it's not that hard.

Portal 2, without using a walkthrough. Possibly the most satisfying completion of a game ever.

Elvis_Christ 12-21-2011 11:20 PM

Just finished Fallout 3. Really enjoyed it. Might go through and explore the world more sometime... but I think I'll just move on to something else I haven't finished.

Ooo. I should probably go and finish it. I got frustrated on one of the levels and put it down. Thanks for the reminder.

Glad you enjoyed it! I went through it twice... The first time I went through pretty quickly and focused on the "big" plot and the second time I really went out and explored. Had a blast both times.

...

Beat Rage. Talk about anti-climactic. Mile wide and inch thick. For all of its beauty, I really wish there was more to the story... And it really just ended with a fizzle. Lots of possibilities there, but fell short.

ChronoGrl 01-02-2012 05:01 PM

JUST BEAT PORTAL 2

Good GOD that took me longer than it should have... I cheated. A lot... But I BEAT YOU WHEATLEY HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

I love the end credit songs... Not as great as the end of the first one, but BAHAHAHAHA I BEAT YOU.

Uncharted 1 and 2, now it's on to 3.

Fantastic games and while I loved the 1st one there were issues with it, almost all of them were fixed with the sequel though. That said... I was more interested in the story of the first and like the set pieces a little better I think.

"Assassins Creed - revelations" PS3 7-8/10

Not as good as Brotherhood and not a lot of new stuff added, but quite good nevertheless.

The story is getting more and more fucked for each new addition of this franchise. We're talking The Matrix.
From what I got out of the outro the next game might be the last. And maybe that's not such a bad idea. I have a feeling we're gonna get a very far out conlcusion with an over the top climax. I'm expecting to see God, E.T. and Napoleon that's what i'm sayin.

Still nr. 1 in smoothest control and movements. "Metal Gear Solid 4" being a very close second.

Ps. A baby actually died in the ending sequence. But still... not enough for a clean 8/10.

I really liked the first two but got kinda bored a little into Brotherhood. They're really repetitive and like you said, confusing. I pretty much lost interest and knowing that it gets even more complicated with Revelations im not all that excited to play it.

If you disliked Brotherhood you should save your money on this one for sure. Coz not a lot new under the sun here.

With Brotherhood being MY personal AC favorite i liked this one quite a bit even tho it wasn't as good. But it sure as hell was beautiful.

Just finished up Fallout: New Vegas. Glad I gave this one a second chance. Think I needed to play Fallout 3 first to get the hang of things. The story wasn't as good but I enjoyed the more complex character interaction and choices of where you could take the game. I still don't take back anything about it being buggy however the game crashed on me 3 times and my character would occasionally get stuck in stupid places. Think I'll come back to this one more than Fallout 3 because there's just more to it.

Now I'm finally onto Skyrim!

Oh yea, that's entertainment.

Uncharted 3 - Got more intense toward the end but it was a little anti-climatic. I think the 2nd one was my favorite over all, the 1st had my favorite premise, and the 3rd one had the best dialogue and some "wow" moments that really blew me away. Great series.

Resident Evil 4. I've played through that game a couple times on the Gamecube, and once on the Wii... and when it came available for download on the xBox360 marketplace, I couldn't resist picking it up and playing through it once again. Easily my favourite out of the series -- the chainsaw ganado is just pure badassery.

The best? With no fucking zombies? Show me who says that... they need to be thoroughly thrashed....

Exactly. The fourth one changed things too much. Give me the first two over that one any day

ImmortalSlasher 03-07-2012 06:57 AM

The best Resident Evil depends on how you see the series. I think Resident Evil 4 is one of the best games ever. As an action horror title it can't be beat. But as a survival horror title which is what Resident Evil started as, then RE4 isn't as good as the original, or the remake, part 2, part 3, or Code Veronica. RE4 starts off as a strong survival horror but once you get to the second and third sections, ammo is no longer a problem.

Yeah, I felt the same way about Dead Space, it was a good sci-fi/horror action game but it wasn't a "survival horror". I had fun with it though... it just wasn't System Shock.

I just beat Splinter Cell: Conviction. Shot game but the co-op story they added is a bonus for sure. The controls are a little wonky but I feel the same way about Batman AC too (AA I had no issues with though).

Yeah I haven't even bothered with #4 or #5. I just hate that perspective...and while I can see that they look like decent games, they have very much abandoned most of what I knew and loved about the RE games, just throwing a few existing characters into the mix.
They changed the "look" successfully with Code Veronica and RE:0, yet they still felt like part of the series...for me, the newer ones have not.

Matthew T. 03-07-2012 07:18 PM

Personally, I love the whole Resident Evil series, but I felt that it was part 4 that really brought the games into a new direction. I also enjoyed 5, but felt that really, it was just riding the success of 4 and infusing it with better graphics and some new characters. I've seen the previews for the new R.E. that's coming out this month, and I'll admit: I'm impressed. The gameplay looks pretty intense, sort of a combination of GEARS OF WAR meets RESIDENT EVIL. Plus, I'm excited to play as Leon again -- I thought he made a great lead character, and he looks badass as hell in this new game. :)

Despare 03-10-2012 07:23 PM

Batman Arkham City

I was really looking forward to a "WOW" moment with this one (kind of like the very first Scarecrow moment in AA) and didn't really get it. Until the credits rolled and that last little message... that was awesome.

You haven't played RE4? It's really good. At least play the first village section up to the cabin. That first section is perfect and really spooky at times.

I actually like the movie. But then I haven't played any of the games yet. The HD collection is coming out soon I believe. That's where I will start. But I have to find the original game first since for some odd reason they aren't remaking that one.

Yeah, I agree. What most fans of the series need to realize is that the action ones dont HAVE to be the same. The series moved on. Get used to it. I personally enjoy Revelations, Because it evenly blends action and horror, but that's just me.
