Strange way to go as well! A shame, I've always liked his work.

was killed by his own car as it rolled down his driveway early Sunday, police and his publicist said.

The car pinned Yelchin, 27, against a brick mailbox pillar and a security fence at his home in Los Angeles, Officer Jenny Hosier said. He had gotten out of the vehicle momentarily, but police did not say why he was behind it when it started rolling.

Yelchin was on his way to meet friends for a rehearsal, Hosier said. When he didn't show up, the group came to his home and found him dead.

Loved Hearts in Atlantis when I first saw it few years back...but didn't realize Anton was playing that young Bobby Garfield! One of the finest young contemporary actors. He was great in Fright Night remake and sad now we won't get a Odd Thomas series with him on the lead; loved that movie too.
And I'm sure we all are eagerly waiting for The Green Room that already got lots of positive responses from the genre fans & critics.

R.I.P Anton. You'll be missed terribly ::sad::

Son of a whore!! I was told about Anton's death yesterday and thought he was Chekov in the Star Trek reboot, I was assured he wasn't, but I had to google it to be sure after you guys reminded me. Fucking hell. I hate it when I'm right. He was one of the only things I liked about the new movies... By a freak accident, how horribly tragic...

Director if Wicker Man

http://www.bbc.com/news/entertainment-arts-36693545

Film director Robin Hardy has died at the age of 86, a family friend has confirmed.

He was best known for cult British film The Wicker Man, starring Sir Christopher Lee and Edward Woodward.

The 1973 film told the story of police sergeant Howie, played by Woodward, who was sent to search for a missing girl on the fictional island of Summerisle.

Hardy, who went on to make follow-up The Wicker Tree in 2011, died on Friday, the friend said.

Last year, Hardy said he wanted to make a third Wicker Man film as a tribute to Sir Christopher.

The Wicker Man was Hardy's feature debut, and he went on to direct only two more feature-length films. The second, The Fantasist, came 13 years after his debut.

Had no idea about The Wicker Tree! And its at vudu.com.
