Ya, I hope not, as well. Might be a good idea for you to specify which version when you post the pics. Some aren't as good recognizing by "the box" as we might be.

Candyman: 1.5 (i was more scared with the feeling of being in the projects than the Candyman.)

Ringu: havent seen Nip org

Stir of Echoes: never heard of it = )

Stir of Echos is a top notch supernatural thriller starring Kevin Bacon. It's a classic. I'm frankly appalled there are so many who haven't seen it.

Im gonna watch it right now. I've chatted horror movies with people for decades, never heard anyone mention this one. I never see it on best horror lists. Wonder why this one seemly dropped out of minds.

It got a lukewarm response because it came out right after The Sixth Sense and was in a similar vein. It wasn't as well-received and has never been able to shake that stigma. I agree with neverending -- it's a very good horror thriller, and its too bad it hasn't been better appreciated.

Plus, Kevin Bacon.

I know the title, I've just always been under the impression that it was an action movie for some reason. I'll put it on my list of movies to watch.

I liked Stir Of Echoes better than The Sixth Sense in all honestly. It's a very good movie and it's very well done. My rating isn't that high because I just didn't find it all that "spooky", but it's an extremely underrated movie.

Scare-O-Meter scores (out of 5)

Candyman (based on 9 ratings) - 2.7
Ringu (based on 6 ratings) - 3.3
Stir of Echoes (based on 4 ratings) - 3.0

All 3 films achieve pretty decent scores, with Ringu topping the trio. More people definitely need to see Stir of Echoes - an underrated horror gem.

All 3 films added to the opening post.

House of Usher: 4

Pit and the Pendulum: haven't seen

Masque of the Red Death: haven't seen

It's tough to separate these three movies, they are all beautifully spooky/ scary in their own way and full of atmosphere...

House of Usher: 4 (My favourite of the three and sets a perfect tone and atmosphere).

Pit and the Pendulum: 4 (The most intense of the Poe adaptations)

Masque of the Red Death: 4 (Amazing atmosphere, great performance from Price!)

Loving that movies aren't being pitted against each other in the traditional tournament format, but instead are being rated without a winner/ loser format.... Always feel so guilty/ disappointed in the tournaments where I effectively have to vote against amazing movies and usually end up abstaining or throwing a vote to a good movie just so it doesn't get whitewashed!
