It's been going on for quite a while

I thought I had become the most jaded person in the world, rarely surprised by anything anyone did. All of this omcdave stuff, however, has knocked me for a loop. He was one of the few members I "thought" I'd made a connection with. He sent me a few PMs that were odd, but nothing risque or inappropriate. (By odd I mean that they were a little too needy, like he was trying to make friends.) I replied to them and tried to be nice. Now I feel kind of weird; I can't really explain it. Needless to say, I didn't have it anywhere near as bad as some. I'm glad that the situation was taken care of. Hats off to the mods.

yeah..he pmed me a few times but then they started to get annoying so i closed down my pm..
none were explicit in a sense but they were getting ridiculously too often.
I used to show my fiancee all my pms and he wasn't too pleased about them.

It's more 'paedophile' suggestive comments, which I think from the generally speculative knowledge of this guy might be a bit overzealous. Didn't I read that it was a different former member who was allegedly 'showing his penis' on Yahoo? Did OMCDave actually commit any internet crimes himself, other than PMing everybody in sight and treating the females with a bit more attention?

Dave was the procurer

Dave was the nice, funny guy who lured the girls into a false sense of security, talked them into agreeing to a private chat...Then Trip came in (to the private chat) and started his part...Dave would make the girls feel 'okay' by agreeing with the things that Trip did and said, and tried to make a joke out of it...Like he was their friend and it was all normal, and no big deal...They would tell these young girls that they were 'young women' and that people shouldn't treat them like little kids...Well, there's a lot more to it, but it's the typical 'grooming' shit...

There was never any mention of Dave showing his parts to anyone...I'm pretty sure that Dave doesn't even own a webcam...But, as an accomplice...I say he's just as guilty

I also wanted to add that Trip was acting on his own long before Dave came to the forum...Trip was finding it more and more difficult to 'do his thing' here as more and more people were becoming leary of him...Most of his last posts were to defend himself...Not everyone was oblivious...Dave gave him the edge that he needed

Now I just feel icky. I guess maybe I was safe cuz I'm pretty far away from 14. I don't know, I guess in hindsite, I'm not that surprised about trippin'. But I thought that omcdave was just being friendly.

Obviously the full story is known 'behind the scenes' - which most of us have not been privy to - so much of the reaction to this sensitive issue has been based on hearsay.

His 'school girl' talk might have been assumed to be referring to the well known 'Japanese look' he seemed to be a bit obsessed with (did many people bat an eyelid about this kind of thing before he was exposed?), but if this is really the nature of what he has been saying to young kids on Yahoo then he obviously has far more sinister preoccupations which extend beyond him being just 'a bit thick'.

The other guy was more articulated, which seems to make him even more calculating in all this.
