Alfred Hitchcock serves Shyamalan up with a nice cup of ass-whooping to emerege an early tournament favorite...

Next match coming right up....

And Austin, are you so sure HItchcock has it in the bag? He's the master of suspense, not the master of horror. Plus, with guys like Romero, Craven and Carpenter still in the tourney, I don't think anything is set in stone yet.

Okay, because I realized I left a couple of very notable directors out of the tournament originally, I have expanded the field to include 32 directors, instead of only 16.

Round 1 - Match 7

Lucio Fulci - A Lizard in Womans Skin, Dont Torture a Duckling, Dracula in the Provinces, The Psychic, Zombie (aka Zombi 2) , City of the Living Dead (aka The Gates of Hell), Black Cat, The Beyond, The House by the Cemetary, The Ripper, Evil Eye, Touch of Death, The Sweet House of Horrors, Demonia (aka Liza), Voices from Beyond {Plus waaaaay too many other films for me to list off here. Check out imdb.com for a complete list.}

Guillermo del Toro - Cronos, Mimic, The Devil's Backbone, Blade 2, Hellboy, Pan's Labrynth {He is also working on Hellboy 2, and another horror film called A Killing on Carnival Row. Both due in 2007.}

First one to 7 wins.

I guess you're right, I've seen The Good, The Bad and The Ugly get beat by The Thing and Taxi Driver lose to X-Men I think it was... So anything can happen in an hdc tourney.

anyway...

Fulci

Fulci jumps out in front 1-0!

Need more votes....
