[i]Doe sit bother you that America thinks everyone in your country is a clone of Steve Irwin or Crocodile Dundee? Or do you even care what we think?

- It bothers me that nothing is really being done to CORRECT this.
It's all to do with the tourism bit though, nowadays at least...that, and American made "Australian" films that typecast.

Another thing, there is also a problemati overabundance of them in certain areas, to the point that certain places actually send out culling squads to exterminate them in a calculated way.
Not nice, but true.

When I think of Australia, I think of Hugh Jackman.

We do the same thing with the deer population.

YES!!!
That's more adequetly reprasentative of the majority of Australians in terms of accent and speech.
Him, and the guy on "LAX"...? I think they had an aussie guy on sex and the city once, he sounded like most AUS. people do too.

he's highly thought of .. in the entertainment industry too ..

my sister worked with him for a bit on x-men .. he was the only star that took lunch with the crew ...

australians have always been compared to canadians - or vice versa - as being laid back .. down to earth .. hard drinkers.

Crikey! That one's a Beauty!

I do an obnoxiously accurate impersonation of Steve Irwin. It would probably get me beaten up in Australia....

ChEEbA 03-08-2005 07:08 AM

No, we'd probably just let you go on...I mean, we like a good laugh.
I can do the Irwin accent, but I HATE doing it...nope, noway, not doing it. In fact, I was doing it to piss someone off...

I saw him on "Inside the Actor's Studio" quite a while ago and was very impressed with the kind of human being he is, along with his acting skills. Every interview I've ever seen with co-stars he's had they've all had great things to say about him. And I love the fact that he's crazy about his wife. It's so rare in Hollywood these days.

What does your sister do? I'm jealous!
